Surrounded by a landscaped park in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, the Grotta Giusti Resort Golf & Spa lies midway between Florence and Lucca. The restored nineteenth-century villa, which houses a hotel, a restaurant, and a hot spring spa, is oriented around a natural cave with an underground lake that is renowned for its restorative healing powers. Discovered over 150 years ago, the cave, with three distinct zones of heat, is at the heart of the Grotta Giusti experience.

The spectacular natural thermal cave, or the Grotta, is the focal point of the spa. It is divided into different zones that are experienced as increasingly hot, though this is due to the degree of humidity rather than an actual variation in temperature. There is also a complete menu of medical services--check ups, postural analysis, dermatologic consultations, stress tests, and the Longevity medical research program; anti-aging therapies, including several types of chemical peels and a microdermolift with Vitamin C or AHA; and esthetic body and facial treatments using the exclusive Eteria cosmetic line by Fonteverde.
Guests can use the two hot spring pools with hydro massages and waterfall, access the fitness center with cardio equipment, work out with a personal trainer, or take a group fitness walk in the morning and yoga or weight training class. For those who want to combine exercise with adventure, there is rock climbing in the surrounding hillside or scuba diving in the underground lake.
