I had a woman do my body scrub and wrap. She was very nice and informative. I believe her name was Susie. We were late and I had some of my group cancel but they still took great care of my mom and I. Also they have $50 weeks which you can't beat.

I tried this spa because it was close to my work place. I was highly disappointed. My gift card was refused.

I went to this spa because I had the spafinder gift certificate, and it's one of the few in my area that would accept the gift card. I am 34 weeks pregnant, and was looking forward to a wonderful and relaxing pedicure, which I thought I would get for 45 dollars. However, the lady doing my pedicure shoved giant industrial-sized tubs of green tea powder and mud into my face, insisting that I smell them before agreeing to the green tea pedicure. This pedicure included no foot massage or leg massage, which I can get at any nail place for much cheaper. Also, when she put the green tea "mud" on my feet, she just wrapped them in plastic and then put unheated booties on. While I sat with the mud on my feet, I could hear the staff discussing their drinking the night before in addition to foul language- not very relaxing for a pregnant lady. Before polishing my toes, the lady handed me my flip flops and told me to put them on. I'm used to having the person performing the pedicure at least help with getting shoes back on. Last but not least, my toenails don't even look like I've had a professional pedicure. There is polish all over my toes on both feet. I think I'm just going to remove the polish because they'd look better with nothing on. I would definitely NOT return to this spa, and I would not recommend it to anyone that I know.

I have gone to this Spa numerous times mainly for brazilian wax. When I first attended the spa I was assigned to one staff person to complete the service. I used the same staff person several times although I was not thrilled with her demeanor. I then decided to try another staff person that I ended up just feeling so comfortable with that I kept this person as my regular waxing person. I returned to the spa several weeks ago, for facial, body massage and body scrub...spent a fortune on these services. Well for the facial I was assigned to the staff person that used to perform the wax services. Much to my surprise once we were in the room and I was settled in and relaxed she started giving me the THIRD DEGREE as to who I'm scheduling with and times I have been at the spa. I was so upset about her attitude as if I had to continue using her for MY services. I am the customer and I get to select the person I want to provide my services. Unfortunately, by the time I was done with my services the owner had left for the day and I was unable to complain about this staff person's attitude. Due to this highly UNPROFESSIONAL attitude I have reconsidered my continued service to Ultrabeauty Day Spa.

Great experience, I love the ambivance and high quality service. The staff really caters to their customers. The deep tissue massage is great!! I had a "girls day out" it was a overall great experience. We all brought food and used their little room in the lower level to celebrate a birthday. It was a great time. Would definately go back.

I went in Feb for a mani/pedi. First, i was told to pick out a polish, they didnt have many at all to choose from. I finally found a color that i like, and went to the back to soak in the pedicure chair. Everything was going ok. The staff person came over and started. It was just ok. Nothing to brag about it. And the biggest disappointment is that she put lotion on my feet and rubbed it in. Ive been pedicures for along time, I always get lotion on my calves and massaged in. For $ 28, I should have gotten a little rub. I also felt like a toddler was rubbing in the lotion. It supposed to feel like AHHH instead , I felt like Jeez, i wish she would apply some pressure. Then came the manicure... just ok again. I left with polish on the side of my nails. No hot wash cloth, no massaging of hands. Another not do customer friendly tid-bit...the staff doesnt walk up your payment or have cashier come and get it. Ive NEVER experienced this. Over all, just ok, wont go back. Not customer friendly. Over priced

I have had many wonderful experiences with Ultrabeauty. The atmosphere INSIDE is calm and relaxing. The hustle and bustle outside sometimes makes me a little iffy of going. The only issue I have had with them is that I made my appointment and asked for the special, when I arrived for my appointment the special was over the day before and they did not grant it to me. This is the reason for the 3 stars for service, other than that all is good for me.

I don't know if Alex is still employed at Ultrabeauty, however, if he is... Be sure and get a nice therapeutic massage from him. He is extremely professional, very personable and you feel so much better when you leave. He literally leaves you wanting to return!!! Even if you are a bit hesitant having a man massage you... Trust me on this one... I have gotten my mother AND grandmother to get massaged by him!!!! He is truly THAT good!!! My experience with a facial, however, was not as pleasant. It all started out great. Nice, relaxing, pampering. Then, when I was getting ready to leave, in comes the Esthetician with a tray full of products to sell me. UGH!!! Talk about ruining your experience! I want to add at this point that I am a Licensed Massage Therapist and Esthitician out of state, have worked at elite establishments and know how the "sale" practice "should" work. The staff here need to learn that. It should be a ... Plant the seed and let the client ask for the product type of sale... This way the client is thrilled when she/he leaves and likely to return. Yes, I will return... IF Alex is still there ... For a massage. No more facials here for me.

I have been to this apa several times over the course of a few years. I have had the best and worst experience at a spa here. Depending on the day and who is on the staff can make or break your experience here. The most upsetting thing that has happened to me here-I booked a massage with Oxana. I got here and they were packed and I got another massage therapist without much talent or strength. It was like having a toddler massaging me with oil. I will never make that mistake again! If she doesn't walk in the room, I am leaving. The best time-a wonderful massage, pedicure, and manicure..I left floating. Good Luck!

Refused my SpaFinder certificate

A friend decided to treat me to a spa day for my birthday. Since I had a SpaFinder certificate for $50, we decided to find a place that accepted them, and booked services close to $300. When we were all finished and ready to pay, the spa refused my SpaFinder certificate! They told us that since we booked "specials" they could not accept the certificate, or they would have to charge us for the services at a higher rate. The receptionist called the owner who got on the phone with me and was intolerable, and rude. I explained to her that I only found her spa because of SpaFinder and that she got an additional $250 in business that she otherwise would not have gotten. I also told her that her website advertising the specials did not exclude the SpaFinder certificates, and that we told the receptionist at the time of booking that we would be using the certificae. She just yelled kept saying that she makes no money on those certificates and use it someplace else, I had to pay the bill in full without my certificate. A relaxing day at the spa was RUINED. I left there stressed out, shaking, and angry. Just as an FYI, the staff also never refilled the empty water pitchers for the entire 3 hrs we were at the spa. I left quite dehydrated.

I have been to various Salon in the area and this is by far the best. When I originally was lead to the basement area I was surprised, but once I got done there I was pleasantly surprised. The staff is extremely courteous and professional. I have been back several time s and intend to go again in the near future.

Good spa, bad location

You might not think twice about visiting this spa because of its poor location -- parking is minimal, traffic is abundant. Almost ruins the relaxing spa mood once you leave.....but...the masseuses are wonderful and once you're downstairs in their newly renovated spa facilities, the annoyances of the location are soon forgotten. They are priced competitively, as far as spa services go, but considering it's a spa in Northeast Philly, their prices seem a little high. I've been back numerous times, though, and like it overall.
