Absolutely not a spa
I don't know how this place calls themselves a spa! Its an old two story house behind another house. The courtyard is full of leaves, supplies and garbage in it. In the house, you're over taken by fresheners and mold. It bothered my allergies and asthma quite a bit. The little area you walk into has a small desk and two chairs. You can hear everything going on in the house, including the loud footsteps if anyone has to go upstairs to the bathroom. Yep, upstairs. Bathroom is at the top of the stairs and you have to duck or you'll knock yourself out on the stairs. I had a facial, or an attempt at one. Room was very dark with one light shining right in my eye. They don't offer a robe! Odd to get a facial in my street clothes. No sink in the room. Old brick floors. And you can hear the door bell ring and vibrate the whole house. She barely cleansed my face and went into the microderm. No skin consult. The massage was so light I could barely feel it and told her she could go harder. Disappointment. Couldn't tell me what was in the homemade stuff she was using on my skin and they were unlabeled. She started 15 mins late, ended 10 mins early. Will never go back to this place again. Not worth the money and services stunk. Go somewhere else.

Birthday Massage
I redeemed a VERY old gift certificate for an aromatherapy massage. Initially, I was put off by the fact that my appt was scheduled for 10 a.m., and no staff member with a key showed up UNTIL 10 a.m. However, my therapist was thorough, asked the right questions, and made me feel very comfortable and very relaxed. I appreciate the diligence the receptionist exhibited in redemption of my gift certificate, since initially it seemed invalid, but she researched and found out it was still good. Everyone was very professional and polite. I'd recommend this location.

Facial
This place charge me for a facial, however I recieved a facial you get at a facial training school. They applied an oatmeal mask with honey (they teach that to you at Vogue) the room has dark not dime DARK how can you see what you are doing to my face. They didn't even have running water in the room. The water was luke warm. They were going to charge me for extractions, but how can you see with NO LIGHT!!! This place is TERRIBLE. The girl was very uncomortable working on my face tried talking like she as been an esthician and she defintely did not now what the hell she was doing. Called the owner and all Shannon could say was I'll give you half off of your next VISIT common how about a free with REAL esthician. I was robbed!!! Never again.. Please do NOT go there. I've had MANY facials before so I know what to expect. I only went there because it was close to my home.. I will drive the 15 min extra minutes to get regular spa.

Best
I recieved amazing results from the cranberry pomegranate oxygen facial. My skin looks much younger and hydrated. Shannon is amazing! Hot stone massage was amazing, it gave me the relaxation and results I wanted.

IT'S A MUST!!!!
Extremely professional. The staff is professional and treat you wonderfully. I have been going there since they opened and have referred many friends and family and they are now converts and will not go anywhere else! It's a must if you live in or visit San Antonio!

ouch
i will never go here again....i tried it on two different occasions, first time for a massage and seaweed wrap, at the san pedro location....second time for a brazilian wax... the first visit, with the wrap, and massage was dissapointing because of the facility..It seems very run down, not aesthetically pleasing whatsoever...also the wrap they did, they used saran wrap over the seaweed that they paint on you with an old paintbrush that looks like its painted a dozen or so houses..... i got a massage that was suppposed to be deep tissue, and the lady put no real pressure on me.. the second trip was the brazilian wax......... let me first say that i have only done one other wax before this one, and im glad i did, because otherwise i wouldve never known how a good wax job is supposed to go. This lady missed a lot of patches, re did the strips many times, til my skin was RAW... and didnt ask me how i wanted it....i personally like a lil landing strip....she proceeded to take the whole thing off....(also used same wood stick, after she wiped wax on me, dipped it back in wax). she said shes done it for 12 years.... nice lady, very sweet, very down to earth...but Ill never go back to her again.... or terra spa for that matter.

Horrible!
I honestly was trying to save money and didn't expect a 4 star spa however, I also didn't expect to have my feet soaked in a Conair foot bath. I have one of those at home! The walls are paper thin and you can hear in the room next to you. This girl was on her phone the entire time and I heard her entire conversation, clear as day. It was cold in the room. I have received many body wraps and have never been asked to stand up while I was wrapped with saran wrap. There was also only 1 girl there, working 2 people and the front desk. It was just such an awful experience and I could not wait to get out of there.

GREAT prenatal massages!
I was lucky enough to have recieved a $50 SF gift card at my baby shower this Saturday. I came in for my massage today (Tuesday) and was pleasantly surprised that my first massage experience was so wonderful. The woman who massaged me was very thorough and worked hard on all of my problem areas. She wasn't overly talkative and just let me enjoy the smooth motions of her hands. She was very informative about the differences between prenatal massages and normal massages and what her limitations were. The atmosphere was quite relaxing and I dozed off frequently throughout my massage. I feel so relaxed and pampered. Definitely go here, especially if you've never had a massage before. I expected a spa to be full of snotty women (especially in Alamo Heights) but both ladies I dealt with were very down to earth and comforting.
