About Maui Zen Day Spa

Maui Zen Day Spa resembles a Zen temple in Kyoto that was transported to the Hawaiian tropics, with shoji screens and tatami mat floors highlighting the spa's interiors and a range of tropical-inspired services on the spa menu. Located in central Lahaina, the 1,000-square-foot spa has four treatment rooms and a waiting area. A variety of massage modalities such as lomi-lomi, shiatsu, Swedish, deep-tissue, sports conditioning, prenatal, reflexology, and hot stone are available and facial treatments include deep-cleaning, sun exposure, anti-aging, and men's services. The spa's Signature Zen Massage blends techniques from Hawaiian, Asian, and European traditions for a full-body massage experience. Clients experiencing the Island Zen Facial can enjoy organic Ilike skin care products and a tropical fruit hand treatment. Packages and occasional specials are also available.

My son bought me a apafinder gift certificate for my birhtday, so when my husband and I went to Maui for our honeymoon we thought it would be fun to use it to get massages together. We looked around on the web and like the reviews we saw for Maui Zen and booked our visit. We were NOT disappointed. Katherine worked on my husband who had never had a massage before and he was hooked. Mary Jane did my neck and shoulder massage and it was the BEST massage I've ever had! She definitely knew all the places to work to relieve the stress I carry in those spots! We will most certainly go back on our next visit!

I just returned from Maui and had booked a Lomi Lomi massage on-line based on the reviews from this site. I was not disappointed. Everyone who says this place is the best is correct. I was in knots from working at a desk all the time. MJ did a fantastic job. She is a true professional and very sweet. My massage was so wonderful I booked a second one the day before I left to come home. Highly recommend!!

My husband and I just visited this spa in Maui - based on the reviews on Spa Finder. We were not disappointed. We each had a 90 minute Lomi Lomi massage, and a 45 minute body scrub. Both were fabulous. The massage was one of the best I ever had and we had never had body scrubs before - we were both pleasantly surprised. It felt great, and we smelled great too. The overall experience was great and we would definitely recommend this spa.

My husband and I visited Maui for the first time last month (May 2010). I enjoy regular massages here at home, but my husband has never had a professional massage. Prior to our trip, I did a little research hoping to find a good local place to schedule an appointment. The fees at hotels/resorts are unreasonably high, and I'd rather spend the money at a small, local business. After reading many reviews, I decided that Maui Zen looked to be the best option. We got to Lahaina a little early and parked in a public lot about 2 blocks away. It was $5 for parking (I believe all day). The spa has free parking, but I think it was for just an hour, so we opted to pay the $5 and walk around Lahaina too.We both got a 90 minute massage, and were in the same room. The massages were absolutely wonderful! I don't remember our therapists' names; they were both female. We both felt great the next day, and it was a good mid-trip treat! The only minor complaint I have is the room itself. I think it faced the road, which wasn't too busy, but the window was slightly open, so we were able to hear any road noise. Again, it is only a minor complaint, as it was barely noticeable once I drifted off...I would HIGHLY recommend this place! We will definitely be returning on our future trips to Maui!

I had the Aloha Maui package when arriving to Maui for my one year wedding anniversary. Great value for the money especially in comparison to other Maui hotel resort spas. Catherine was fantastic! Would go back in a heartbeat!

I was looking for a place to get a message & facial while visiting Maui recently. Like others, I did a lot of investigating, surfing the internet to find a well reviewed place that was also affordable. I found Maui Zen and booked my appointments online. It was fast, easy and I received an immediate response from Virginia. I was set for my "Mama Needs A Spa Day" package!I parked in a public lot in Lahaina on the same street where the faciltiy is located and did a little shopping in town, just relaxing my early afternoon away. When it was time to get to my appointment, I walked the short way to Maui Zen, found it with absolutely no problem and checked in. I was a little early, so I just enjoyed a little down time there with a book (they have a lot to choose from in the waiting area) and the gentle 'spa music' in the background.Katherine arrived shortly and we got started. I have to say that she gave me the BEST massage I believe I've ever had. She concentrated on my stress areas (neck, upper back & shoulders, as I have a desk job that keeps me at a computer all day) and I left feeling so totally relaxed and 'knot free'. It was awesome!Next, after having some cold water and trying to get my legs back (I was so relaxed, I felt kind of jello-like!), I met Rose, the esthetician. What a wonderful facial! The products they use smell heavenly, but not like perfum or artificial in any way. Only the scents of fruits and herbs...I use the word again...heaven, absolute heaven. The facial massage was wonderful. My skin looks great even after a week back home.My appointment was on my last day in Maui - and, it was the best day of my trip, I think! Well, maybe not THE best, but it was a fabulous way to end my trip. Next time, I may just start AND end my vacation there!I highly recommend Maui Zen to anyone looking for a nice way to really relax and unwind when you're in Lahaina or, just on Maui in general. The price is more than great for the service you receive.

My wife and I discovered this spa surfing the internet from home before we left for Maui. We visit the island every year and always get a massage during our stay. We both scheduled the 90 minute Best Foot Forward massage. She had a lady and I had Danny who was schooled and certiied in Hawaiian healing massage techniques. We both get massages every three weeks at home and have done so for the past 20 years. We both agreed that without question each of our sessions produced great results and that these massages were outstanding and the day after we decided that they were the best we ever had. You need a day to know how good the massage really was.The Maui Zen fees are a litle less than a hotel, and you get more service and time for the money and better results. We will retun next year and we will tell our friends about the spa as well!P.S. We learned while there that we could have them come to our Hotel lani for a small additional fee.J and K, Fair Oaks, CA

I took two sixteen year olds for massages and facials, I had a hot rock massage and scrub. All three of us enjoyed ourselves very much. The facility is clean, beautiful and peaceful, and very easy to find. One small complaint, the bathroom is down the hall, but it is not busy, and you are quickly back in the peaceful retreat room. My treatment was excellant, and girls praised theirs too. We found the staff to be relaxed, easy going, and professional but accomadating. I particularily appreciated the robes, which were big enough for my grand proportions.

I would absolutely return to Maui Zen Day Spa, it truly was a pleasant experience through and through. From the moment I walked in the door until the moment I left I felt like everyone who worked there made me feel like I was their only customer! It was smaller than I had envisioned from the website but the cozy atmoshere just added to the friendly service. If I am ever lucky enough to visit Maui again I am certainly booking another visit!

I was planning a trip to Hawaii with my whole family and 5 of the women decided we needed a spa day. We wanted to avoid the high end resorts but all be together. I called Virginia and she was able to accomodate all 5 of us and we had the spa to ourselves. We were all pleased with our treatments, massages and body scrubs. Virginia had fruit salad and muffins waiting for us, and was very caring and accomodating. i wish I had the equivalent type spa at home.!
