The experience at New Beginnings salon was so terrible I can not even understand how they are even open still, and after reading other reviews I found that I was not alone.. The customer service was the worst, I have never been treated so awful not only by the staff but the OWNER!!! This salon is giving the Aveda name a bad rep! And the OWNER is Childish and Threatening hangs up on you and yells at you! They Charge accounts and don't even do the services, check your bank if you have gone to this joke of a salon.

As I mentioned above - the service here is terrible, the staff people are snobbish and not professional. Aveda image will suffer because of this place - for sure I will not choose any spa under their brand if they cannot control the quality. Do not waste your money here...

I have been a customer of New Beginning since it opened and the reason is I am always treated kindly and promptly with vast amounts of knowlege. My hair cuts are perfect and hot stone massages are unreal! I recomend this salon to all my family and friends and have heard the same review I am giving back from them!

I think the facts speak for themselves. I have visited the spa several times and never see the same stylists when I go (high turnover of staff.) I also know of many FORMER clients, myself included, but no current clients. Positives: it is in a convenient location, spa itself is new and pretty, and there is at least one really awesome stylist. However, many things are not impressive. Waiting room nonexistent. Receptionist is snotty. Was quoted one price by stylist, only to be told on next visit that it wouldn't be honored. Finally I woke up and realized that what is supposed to be a relaxing experience was causing me a great deal of stress. I'm done.

I have been an Aveda customer and user for many years. It was a must for me to find an Aveda place for services, before anyone else. And I used to defend the Aveda staff.
Not at this salon. I met one sweet girl from upstairs, spa treatment and one girl in hair.
When getting my eye brows plugged totally uneven, the woman had the nerv to say its my fault. It is not easy to get me speechless. Then she made me pay for it.
Another time the highlights I got in my long hair came out way to bleeched and not as chuncky as I wanted. My concern, when voicd, was not addressed, but blown off as "You will get used to it."
Also, the pice I was quoted on the phone was not at all what they planned to charge. Got them to charge what they told me on the phone, but not without a long one-sided conversation about how that is not usually..... I fellt terrible about the treatment, and then about being so evil to insist on what I was told.
Am never goig back. Please, don't ruin your Aveda experience by using this Spa.

I first went to New Beginnings because it is an Aveda salon and everyone knows Aveda is the BEST! When I went in for my bridal highlight, I was greated with warm, friendly service, and people who not only provide EXCELLENT service but are friendly and genuine! The salon has a water fountain in the middle, they serve mimosas, tea, and water, you get a foot soak while your hair dries, and it is just the most relaxing place I have ever been! Holly did my dye job, trial run, and bridal updo and it was sensational!

I am a Spa Junkie and I LOVE this place! I was very impressed by the interior design and how chic the place looks. The staff is awesome and I love their Aveda products. I have tried several Aveda salons in the Portland area and this one is the BEST one so far! The facial was wonderful and I will definitely be back for a massage!
