The worst "spa" experience ever!

I highly doubt these people were certified as massage therapists.1. As we pull up, we notice that there are HUGE signs on the storefront and on some shoddy van parked in front advertising hour long massages for $40. This is significantly lower than the price we paid Groupon - let alone the supposed "value" that we were getting. This place is just a discount massage location.2. We showed up about 5 minutes before our scheduled appointment only to find a locked door and a handwritten note saying they are late.2. The location was pretty dirty. If there was an actual photo of this place I would NOT have purchased.3. The woman that massaged me had long nails. Every time she would massage me I would feel them.4. She also pulled my underwear down, with no towel, and "massaged" my butt cheeks! Huh? That doesn't seem right.5. The techniques used were not professional at all. It was if I (someone with absolutely no training) were to give another person a massage.6. They were extremely pushy with getting a significant tip.7. When we arrived, there were two filled out medical forms on the waiting area coffee table from clients that were getting a massage. So, obviously no care about privacy.

If I hadn't purchased the certificates for my boyfriend and myself, I may not have found this spa. This is a perfect place tucked away from the other stuffy,high-class places in Savannah. There is a warm feel and quaint decor.Ken did a wonderful job with my swedish massage and the body polishing was fabulous!I will definately return for other various treatments.

This was the first time my fiance and I had ever been to a "spa" outside of get a message while deployed. Our appt. was for 430pm we didn't get back to the jacuzzi tub till almost an hour after. With a tray that looks like they just threw some grapes and dipped strawberries in chocolate syrup. The placed two bottles of water and 2 champagne glasses with what was suppose to be screwdriver (champagne and oj) but was just nasty. And a tub that could barely fit one person who stretched out in it let alone 2. Extremely cramped and uncomfortable. We were suppose to be in there 30 min we were left there almost an hour and a half. And told to put on what looked to be old walmart ( same brand they carry) robes. And taken to a room where they had us dress down and lay on the tables. But they didn't return back to start the massage for almost 30- 45 mintues. The massage was a joke my fiancee was suppose to receive the deep tissue. Which was nothing more then a rub down with lotion. I was suppose to have a swedish prenatal and it was hardly that. In a very hot and humid room that was uncomfortable. This was so bad that my fiancee never wants to go to a spa again. And way over priced, to them a 10% discount of $230 is $10. What a joke.

My husband and I went to this spa and I was so happy because it was our anniversary and they were open on a Sunday. The good things about it was the atmosphere, decor, and lighting. The staff was very friendly also. The outside and coming into the spa just looks like a salon but in the back there is more. The massage tables were beautifully decorated and we enjoyed champagne and fruit in the jacuzzi. The downside to it is we were waiting for a good while until they took us back. I have 3 years experience as a massage therapist myself and this was the worst massage I've ever had. I paid for a deep tissue and all I felt her doing was mostly light touching with circular strokes using her hand and kept painfully going over my ribs. If I didn't know any better it seemed as though she didn't know what she was doing.

I booked an appt for a mani/oedi that is according to their website on special throughout January for $25.00 after waiting for at least fifteen minutes I enter the back, where another person is in a spa chair. I wait in my spa chair ......read a lot of magazines... I was however served some juice which was nice. The manicurist was very Nice but it took a long time. I did not realize that I had been in the salon for two and a half hours. She did offer to give me an extra foot treatment because I waited so long. At this point I am interested in coming back, despite the long wait. When it was time to pay the owner was adamant about not accepting my spafinder.com gift card because she would lose 18% and I was already getting a service that was discounted. It is not my fault it was on special. I had to leave, I did not have time to argue with her, she even had the nerve to ask me about leaving gratuity. I paid the bill and I did tip the manicurist, b/c She is not in charge of the payment situation. When I booked the appointment they said they accepted Spafinder gift cards !DO NOT GO here if you are trying to get in and out, or if you expect to be able to use your gift card.. which is why your reading my review

The facialist was good and that is the best thing I can say about them. The space was a poor attempt at luxury. The pedicure was an uncomfortable upright seat with little space to move. The massage therapist either didn't know what they were doing, totally ignored my requests or was completely deaf! What was worst is the owner/operator was so pushy about giving her spa a good review, and "Oh don't we have such a great place here!?" Just bad, I'm sorry I got my husband to buy the gift certificate.

I went to this spa 3/20/10 and had an amazing time. The atmosphere was comfortable, relaxing and just what I needed. Quiet, candles, light music set the mood for my many treatments - I thought I was splurging, but it was worth every penny. The prices were outstanding and I can't wait to go back.I got a facial, mud wrap, and massage. Which all have been the best of any spa I've been to, and I have a discerning taste for indulgence - especially in this economy. The staff was kind and easy to talk to, as well as professional. I'm a shy person and they made me feel right at home. And that MAN has MAGIC hands. I walked out stress-free and feeling wonderful. I can't wait to take my fiance there when he's home on R&R.thank you!!!

Wow, I had a wonderful day at this spa. Beauty Essentials Spa is the absolute best value in town for a spa. It may not be as glamorous as some of the other spa's which I can see now are closing probably because of the horrible service they offer. I had the most incredible massage from a gentleman which I had never had a male therapist and the most incredible facial as well. He was attentive, educated and completely relaxing; every woman's dream. I wanted to take him home and set up my own personal massage room. He handled everything amazingly and the spa is very nice, there are photos of the spa online for the person who put the other review, sorry but you must have had the wrong therapist or just be jealous. This place is great hot towel treatments with every service and attention to every detail. Try it out you will not be sorry. Going back in two weeks.

WORST SPA EVER

I enjoy trying new spas, this however, was the worst spa i have ever been to.I generally get a massage and other spa services one a month, so I am a seasoned spa goer. This by far, was the worst "spa" experience. I have never experienced such a disgusting facility with such poor and uneducated service. This "spa" is a joke. The facility is extremely low budget and FILTHY. It has no relaxing atmosphere, as it looks cluttered, junky, and unprofessional. The pedicure chair was horribly uncomfortable and in the back of the modified building featuring old, dingy paint half rolled on the wall, old dirty carpet, and low-budget rooms.I did not feel comfortable here, but decided to go through with the services I had schedule. THIS WAS A MISTAKE.I had thoroughly researched the "spa" online, and spent about half an hour reading mostly positive reviews about the place. Those reviews now seem fishy to me, as they all had similar verbiage and always named the masseuse by name. I now believe most of them were fake. The staff is highly unprofessional, and the services were also extremely below what anything acceptable. Ironically, it is expensive for the the services performed, and the staff try to "add-on" to your services while they are being performed with out informing the client of the cost of each. I went in for a $60 massage and ended up paying $125 from the two small add-ons. It seemed completely unreasonable. The massage was horrible. The masseuse had extremely poor technique, and rushed through the service when a message is supposed to be slow, calm, and relaxing. While laying on the table and receiving this "massage", I wondered if she had any formal training or professional certifications to be performing this service. She began my massage late, left the room randomly/periodically to answer the phone, get herself a drink, ended more than 20 minutes early and still charged the 90 minute rate!Massage room was unclean. I was hesitant to remove my clothing as the room was in such poor condition and had a bizarrely placed window. After I undressed, I had difficulty getting onto the make-shift massage table (i'm 24, 5'6" and in good shape). The "massage table" felt more like a converted ping pong table and was lumpy, not heated, uncomfortable. It was covered in OLD linens. As I laid onto the table, I looked at the ceiling which was a mixture of specks of antique white, lots of dirt, and dust. The decorating was old, sloppy, and cheap.I am embarrassed I went to such a place.I would not return to this "spa" (it's misleading to call this place a spa) even if the service was free. I left the place disappointed, with empty pockets, not relaxed, and upset. Do not waste your time or money here.
