About Spa at Turf Valley
Set on 980 acres enveloped in the verdant, rolling hills of central Maryland, Turf Valley is a golf and spa destination resort just 40 miles from Washington, D.C. Fostering a sophisticated yet relaxed feel, the resort, formerly a thoroughbred horse farm, opened in 1978 and continues to be a family-owned and -operated establishment. Amateur and advanced golfers alike will enjoy the two championship courses and the European-style Spa at Turf Valley, an ideal place for pampering after a day on the greens. There are 171 guest rooms, in addition to 26 apartment-style suites, and dining options feature regular live entertainment. The resort's 40,000 square feet of meeting and event space includes a 75-seat amphitheater, and there are three tennis courts, a fitness center, and indoor and outdoor swimming pools.

The resort's 10,000-square-foot Spa at Turf Valley houses nine treatment rooms and features a Vichy shower and separate men's and women's locker areas and saunas. Spa-goers also have access to the fitness center and indoor and outdoor swimming pools. A wide variety of treatments is available, including facials, massage, body wraps and scrubs, and waxing, in addition to day and overnight packages tailored for couples, girlfriends, and mother-daughter groups. Signature services include the Sea Glow Body Polish, which begins with a mineral-enriched salt exfoliation followed by a warm Vichy shower massage. Men can indulge in the VitaMAN Scrub or Gentleman's Facial, and teens are invited to the spa to enjoy a massage or a facial with consultation.

I went with my mother for a body wrap and massage which were good, but when we went to pay our bill the receptionist was very dense. She didn't do anything that we asked her to do. My step dad was paying for my mom's bill and half of mine. While my step- father was on the phone giving her step by step instructions, she charged my mother for half of her bill and she charged me all of mine. When we asked her why did she do that she said, "I don't know" with a smirk on her face. I asked her to refund it and do it over again with that same smirk she said, "I can't do that you have to call the finance dept." So I called them, the woman never got back to me and the manager never called back either. This happened on Sept. 9, 2012, I have called Denise over 3 times and she keeps dodging my calls. DO NOT SPEND THAT TYPE OF MONEY TO RECEIVE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Every Easter weekend I attend a conference in the Maryland area. For a number of years our conference took place at the Turf Valley but since we have grown so much the conference takes place at another hotel.
My spa trips to the Turf Valley started about 5 years ago and this is when I was first introduced to Theresa T. - my favorite Masseuse in the WHOLE WIDE world. Theresa's hands literally feel like a mixture of cotton and a top of the line massager from Brookstone.
The care and quality of service she provides is beyond exceptional. Theresa is truly skilled at what she does and takes the time to ensure her clients receive exactly what they came for. Although my annual conference is every Easter & I live in Philly I am going to have to begin making an extra trip just to get some of Theresa's TLC!
Theresa I hope to see you in a couple of weeks when I go to SIlver Springs...

Overall: Great place to relax for the day and not feel rushed to leave after a treatment. Relatively affordable, especially compared to similar amenities in DC. Great staff and treatments! We will be making this a routine :-)
The Massage: I had Theresa "TT" for my massage at it was a-m-a-z-i-n-g. She was very intuitive and had a natural flow. She concentrated on the areas of concern but did not neglect other areas either. She hit muscles that I had never had massaged before! The pressure was perfect. Multiple types of oils we used, such as peppermint on my feet (so refreshing) and lavender on my shoulders. She even used warm wet wash clothes which is a soothing surprise. Every special thing she did made it the best massage I have had (and I have had alot)
The facilities: The have a lovely lounge area to wait before your treatment and to lounge after. Complete with specialty teas, flavored water and little snacks. After my treatment we lounged for hours, dozing off and reading magazines. With a treatment you also have use of the pool and the hot tub. We bounced from hot tub to lounge. It was so nice not to have to head home when all you want to do is sit and relax after a treatment.

My friends and I go to spa once a month to relax and unwind. We have gone and tried many different places for the past 3 years. Because we have been doing this for that long, each has her own favorite spa to go to. Mine is The Spa at Turf Valley. Between my girl friends and I, the lounge area is a key factor to go back. I just love the cozy, relaxing ambiance at their lounge while looking over the beautiful valley, sipping my favorite Tazo Green Tea, waiting for my massage. Although they do not offer red or white wine at the lounge, the sauna at the facility is a good addition after a good massage. I definitely looking forward to going back here.

I enjoyed Turf Valley spa for the most part. The only issue I had was that I got a rash/burn on my face after my facial. It had to do with medication I had been using for my face. My main concern here was that perhaps the chemicals should not have been used in the areas where the medication was used. The esthetician was aware that I was using the product. Other than that, she seemed knowledgeable and friendly. The massage was wonderful!

WOW! What a great way to spend time getting pampered. The Marvelous Mini day is a wondeful escape for a group of girlfriends. A truly soothing transformation for the body and mind. Turf Valley offers a great experience . I had a deep tissue massage and the Sea Glow Body Polish. These truely were the best massage and body treatments I have ever had at a spa. I highly recomend both treatments. If you have not had a vichi shower experience, please try one here. Turf Valley also has a nice lounge agrea with a relaxing atmosphere. I will definately keep coming back here again and again! I know what I will be asking for this holiday season.

A golfer's paradise, Turf Valley sports two Edmund Ault-designed courses, comprising 36 holes that wind through valley, wood, creek, and hill landscapes and challenge golfers of all skill levels. PGA pros are on hand for instruction, as are a golf school and golf shop. There are two swimming pools and three Har-Tru tennis courts available for guests, as well as an exercise room, complete with LifeFitness, elliptical, and Hammer Strength push-button resistance training equipment.
Those wanting to tour the area will enjoy the stroll to historic Ellicott City or can travel the short distance to the nearby Baltimore Harborplace, a festival marketplace filled with several restaurants and boutiques that mix local retailers with national stores.
