Not what I would expect for a resort spa

I have been to many resort hotel spas and this one is very small. The massage was average although the therapist was very pleasant. I requested more pressure but didn't get it. They do charge the rates of a high end resort as well as add a 20%tip. This is not a spa to spend any relaxation time in. I felt short changed

Beautiful But Small

I've been here twice: once for a pedicure and once for a massage. Like other Mandara Spas I've visited, the facility is very attractive, with lots of carved wood and silk cushions. However, it is really very small. The pedicure station is pretty but not super comfortable. There is a tiny "relaxation"/waiting area with two long, hard benches and a couple of chairs. The women's locker room has two showers, a steam room and a sauna but no whirlpool. Amenities in the locker room are basic: for example, there are no hair dryers, though maybe you can request one. Treatment rooms are small but adequate. The pedicure was excellent. When I had the massage, my therapist didn't do the greatest massage ever. It was an 80 minute massage and she spent maybe 20 minutes on my back, gave my arms and legs a quick once-over, then seemed to run out of stuff to do, so massaged my feet 3 times! However, she was very thoughtful about my comfort, so I give her points for that. They do push products at check-out. No problems using SpaFinder gift certificates like cash, even (in one case) along with a discount offer I had from another site.

I had a mini spa package and a Full Fire and Ice Pedicure here. Both were outstanding. The staff was friendly, the technichians were outstanding and I was very pleased with my entire visit. I am going again at the end of the month for the same package deal and adding a pedicure and manicure. It is the best spa experience I have had to date. Love it.

My Mom, Grandma and I visited this spa the day before I was getting married at the Disneyland Hotel. We figured it was worth spending the extra money to get pampered before the big day. My Mom and I got acrylic nails which were the worst job I have ever seen. I had to go back to morning of my wedding to get them fixed it was so bad. The spa is nice but they obviouslly don't employ people who specilize in what they are being paid to do. We could of gone to a regular nail salon and paid a 1/4 of the price.

I went to Mandara Spa at the Grand Californian Hotel for a facial and massage. It was excellent!! The hotel is easy to find and has valet parking, which the spa will validate for you. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and the spa is a short walk from the valet area. Once I arrived, I was greeted courteously and immediately by Marco at the front desk as well as Ernest Sanchez, the Spa Director. I was led to an area where I could change into a robe and slippers, and given a locker for my personal items. I waited for my aestitician in the waiting area, which was quiet and peaceful, with aromatherapy and calming music, and completely private. Water with lemons and limes, decaf iced tea, and fruit were provided. It was a very short wait. Melissa, my aestitician came to get me. I was very pleased with the facial and her demeanor was excellent. My skin is still soft, smooth, and hydrated a couple days later. Next, it was time for my massage. Monique worked on me (Balinese massage) and it was excellent. I still feel relaxed two days later. After my facial and massage, I sat in the steam room for several minutes and alternated with the sauna. The aromatherapy on my back from the massage was amazing!!

This was my first time ever going to a spa, I will never forget this experience. I ended up getting a 1 hour facial for a very affordable price might I add. I also signed up for the membership program. So trust me ladies if you want to have a great experience go to Skin Essentials. This is such a perfect little mommy escape!
