Located in Orlando, Florida, the Swan and Dolphin Resort is situated on 87-acres of Walt Disney World lakefront property, with free water taxi and shuttle services to all the Disney World attractions.

The resort, designed by architect Michael Graves, features a water theme in its coral and teal facade and hand-painted murals depicting the Florida landscape. Fountains are scattered throughout the grounds, including one on the causeway between the Swan and Dolphin, which cascades through five seashells into a 54-foot tall clamshell.

Guest rooms and suites are housed in separate Dolphin and Swan wings, with statues of swans and dolphins on top of each and a clamshell fountain on top of the Swan wing. There are plenty of activities right at the resort for kids and grown-ups, with a camp for children, meals with the Disney characters, treatments at the Mandara Spa, and five swimming pools.

The design and treatment menu of the Mandara Spa are Balinese-inspired, with architectural touches such as trimmings hand-carved in Bali and services incorporating Balinese ingredients and rituals. A 25-foot tall Meru sculpture centerpiece resembling a pagoda dominates the meditation garden, where guests can sip tea and choose from a range of quick mini-treatments or relax in a traditional Balinese bale, a thatched-roof open pavilion.

There are 12 treatment rooms, including two couple's suites, in the 10,500-square-foot spa and other amenities such as steam rooms in the men's and women's locker rooms and a hair and nail salon.

Services include signature Mandara massages, body treatments, facials, hair care, hand and foot treatments, waxing, makeup application and lessons, and eyelash applications. Most treatments incorporate Elemis and La Therapie products, and one of the spa's special offerings is the Mandara Hot Stone Therapy, which features batu stones bathed in warm water and scented with spicy Eastern aromas.

Ritual Mani-Pedi

Didn't have any massage type service or use fitness area, so I didn't see a lot of the area. The lounge area was very nice, tea, apples and citrus water available. The mani/pedi area was small, but fine. The ritual pedicure was great, took off all the winter skin and did a great job. Manicure as well, just not sure all that stuff was needed. Next time I would probably just do a regular mani. Spa wasn't busy, but it was mid week. Didn't have any trouble making an appt or using the spafinder gift certificate.

My massage was very good, but the facility was just average....not as luxurious as I had hoped. I was dissapointed with the changing area and fitness area as well.

Beautiful Facility

The Mandara Spas are all beautiful, and this one is especially nice because it has plenty of space. The waiting room with a temple pavilion in the center is especially impressive. The offerings are predictable, because it's a Steiner operated spa, and they all have pretty much the same treatments, with the usual sales pitch for products at the end. At least the quality of the treatments is reliable (good but not great). If you just want a standard massage or spa pedicure, you'll be fine here. But if you're looking for something really unusual or outstanding, look elsewhere.

2/3rds Great

The intoxicating smell of the Elemis products waft out to the elevator area and draw you in. The changing/shower area was disappointing - little more than a large bathroom in a locker room style with few grooming products. There are two waiting areas, one that looks over the water and has a balcony area, and the other that is in the middle of the block of treatment rooms. Both were cozy and stocked with water, tea, and apples. Elemis Tri-Enzyme Resurfacing Facial: I have a tendency to break-out after facials but my face was clear for weeks afterward. There is a lot of relaxing facial massage used due to all of the different masks. I asked for product recommendations to elongate the treatment - the therapist suggested 2 masks and gave me a discount. Reflexology: I get this at nearly every spa I visit, and this one came with foot scrub. I would like to elaborate on how it was, but I fell asleep about halfway through. . . as usual. Body Sculpting Cellulite and Colon Therapy: I did not find out until I was in the therapy room that this treatment was discontinued. She did a body scrub with disappointing abdominal massage and initially charged me the higher rate (it was refunded later after I emailed the manager).

I loved this spa.It has a very normal feeling unti you get to the back where it feels like you have stepped into a different world.it has a mix of buddhas and other beautiful pieces of art and waterfalls its just breathtaking.here you can relax read a book or enjoy some of the complimentary water with lemon or other drinks.the pedicure section is so simple but yet so pretty.and all the massage and treatment rooms are luxurious with candles and music and the smell of flowers.it was a real treat to be able to do this for a day.it was well worth the hefty price.the staff is also very professional and nice.
