Set amid a serene lily pond, surrounded by blossoming tropical foliage, the Manea Spa in Bora Bora features a traditional Tahitian design aesthetic and Polynesian-inspired treatments. The 675-square-meter spa has nine thatched-roof, timber-paneled treatment pavilions, perched on stilts above water, and accented with touches of coconut tree, kaori, bamboo, and lava stone. Additional spa amenities include an outdoor Vichy shower, sauna, steam room, and fitness center.

Guests can indulge in services such as massage, facials, manicures, pedicures, and tattooing. Select treatments use products from the spa's exclusive cosmetic line, derived from indigenous plants and flowers.

Wellness options include yoga classes and "Bellynesian Bodydance," a combination of Tahitian tamure and Middle Eastern belly dance.

The Manea Spa at the Bora Bora Pearl Beach resort is the ultimate in luxurious decadence. Set towards the back of the resort, the Spa is a haven of tranquility, it's aim to be completely at one with nature with natural air flow and many open walls. As soon as you enter, stresses melt away even without any treatments (although in this part of the world it's almost impossible to be stressed!) Staff are so friendly and happy to show you around, explaining all the different treatments available and their associated benefits. I had a full body massage with my husband on our honeymoon. The double Vichy showers (warm monsoon showers which "rain" on you whilst you lie on a cushioned bench) prepare the skin for natural exfoliants before the massage which remains to this day the best massage I've ever had. Monoi oil is frequently used, harvested from Tahitian Gardenia, a native plant to French Polynesia. It has a calming, aromatic scent which isn't at all overbearing. The Spa also comprises a steam room and sauna, and a wonderful relaxation room where you're invited to rest after the massage treatment, taking in all the natural scenery. A well-equipped fitness room rounds off the facilities and it's easy to spend days here...unwinding, reviving and realising all too late that you won't want to leave.
