I highly recommend it! I also recommend arriving early to shower and indulge in the sauna/steam rooms before your massage. Combined with the tranquility of their lounge area, the Ballantyne Spa is steeped in peace and healing. I can hardly wait to go back!

I am a long time fan of the spa but it has gone downhill. My most recent visit was just awful. The worst manicure I have ever had. She jabbed me and jabbed, so rough, then slapped on a bunch of polish, all over my cuticles, thick and gloppy, it immediately bubbled over. Bad!
The new locker room looks like an airport waiting room. It was packed, ladies were standing. Very loud then the attendants come in and *whisper* names. Mass confusion. I was very hungry and really wanted to order lunch but couldn't get the frazzled attendants attention and then decided I just wanted to get out of there. I won't be back.

I think this place doesn't specialize solely in spa services/industry, so they lose a bit of the proper way of handling treatment and making it a good experience. Customer should always be right.
The delayed meals put a damper on everything, mainly because that's supposed to be a plus, compared to spas where they don't really give much other than a bottle of water.
Anyway, not terrible, but not great either.

I held my wedding reception at The Ballantyne Hotel and Lodge and or course wanted full pampering before the big day. The staff at the spa were so warm and friendly. My body scrub left me feeling relaxed and rejuivinated and my mani/pedi was perfect from start to finish. The pedicure areas/rooms are especially beautiful.
My one complaint was with my bikini and leg waxing. It felt rushed and I found missed hairs here and there. However, when I notified the staff the next day, I was immediately refunded the cost of the service.
Truly, being at The Ballantyne itself is enough to make a gal feel like royalty. The staff and services at the spa take your enjoyment to the next level!

Great First Massage Experience!

My friend has been going to the Ballentyne Spa for years, and she finally talked me into going with her for my first massage. I am incredibly modest and weirded out about other people touching me, but I felt very comfortable in this spa! The massage I got was wonderful, and the facilities were peaceful and relaxing. I felt like a million bucks when I left!

I spent a day at this spa with 6 other friends and all of us were very disappointed. The services started late, but ended on time - thus reducing the amount of service we received but paid full price. The Spa Coordinator was rude from the point of our arrival, and when it was time for lunch, she stuck my friend and I near in a room with the utility closet to eat lunch our lunch While we were in there eating a $15 dried out plate of lettuce and cheese (the Spa Salad), two men walked in to set up the AV euipment for a meeting. We were mortified!!!! We did not have seats in sit in while we waitied between our two services...I felt as if I were in a holding pen, not a tranquil spa environment. When we checked out, we learned that we were gouged with a mandatory 20% spa center tip and were "encouraged" to tip the people who actually gave us services on top of the $340 total. Are you kidding me, 20% spa tip and 20% gratuity? If you are into the spa experience, don't go here. It's a wannabe, but not ready for prime time establishment.

I have always heard great things about The Spa at Ballantyne..After just one visit, I can surely see why! The staff and services are like no other! I literally felt like queen for a day! I had the rhythm of life massage and the pumpkin and spice facial. I came out feeling like a completely different woman! From the moment I walked in I just felt so welcomed by the staff and they led me through every step of my spa experience. I felt like they knew what I wanted, even before I could ask for it! I was also able to relax by the beautiful outdoor pool and enjoyed lunch and a drink! I could not have asked for a more relaxing spa experience! I would highly recommend this spa to anyone who needs a day to focus on their own well-being.

Left with a very bad impression...

I received a gift certificate for two hot stone massages for my birthday, so I took a friend. The gift also included lunch for two. We arrived at the spa one hour and 10 minutes before the treatment, so they would have plenty of time to put the lunch orders in. The lunch never came even after we reminded the attendant. They asked if we would mind eating after the massages and we said we didn't. The massages were wonderful. We did an add-on, which was a scrub. I would skip that because for the money, you could get some scrub yourself and do it in your shower at home. Afterwards, we waited about 30 minutes for our lunch. Once it was ready we were taken to the outside veranda and even though it was extremely humid, the ceiling fans weren't on. The waiter, who seemed hungover, brought our burgers, one of which was supposed to have been turkey, and wasn't. We didn't complain, but did ask for condiments because the burgers were dry. It took the waiter at least 30 minutes to bring some and while we waited, we saw him clearing other tables, etc. finally he brought mayo and mustard, but said they were out of ketchup! The entire hotel??? The only other guest on the veranda ordered a quesadilla, which also came without any condiments such as salsa or sour cream. We watched as she asked for some and it never came. I admired her because she never ate it and told the waiter that flies had been landing all over it while she waited.
When we were checking out at the front desk, Our balance was about $30, so I attempted to use my SpaFinders gift certificate and was told they only accept it Mon-Thurs. After all that we'd experienced, I was livid. Nowhere does it say that they are only accepted on those days. A resort such as the Ballantyne should have seamless service. This was anything but.
