Located on Manhattan's Upper West Side, Orchid Aesthetics is a laser and skin-care spa that describes itself as a "natural facial rejuvenation center." The cozy 900-square-foot facility has three treatment rooms.

this place is horrible. i walked out with 4 burns on my legs, and i know you sign a waver saying that this may happen but ive had laser done before and i knew it was too high for my skin so i asked her to turn it down and she said she "can't" because shes not allowed to???? are you kidding me? DO NOT go here. literally i have 4 burns on my legs.

I went to this spa by recommendation of a friend and found the experience to be a positive one. I got the laser hair removal package and compared to other places thought it to be a stead-deal. I shall be re-visiting this place again soon.

I bought a package for laser hair removal, and checked out Orchid Aesthetic's website, which described their hair removal procedures as "laser hair removal", and made no mention of intense pulsed light (IPL) technology. When I went to my first appointment, my general experience was fine, but I realized that they used a machine that utilizes IPL for hair removal. IPL is a widely accepted method of hair removal, but I dislike the false advertising. Either Orchid Aesthetics was intentionally misleading or Orchid Aesthetics does not fully understand the technology they are using. Either way I do not wish to return.

LAser hair removal is a denominator that embraces an array of light services meant to eradicate the hair growth. The IPL uses a spectrum of wave lengths while the laser is a target wave length. Our Ipl/Laser hair removal services have an 80% and better positive response. we do fully understand the technology and there is no misleading information our website reads:We use a BBL machine from Sciton. The technology is from 2009, and works very well with laser hair removal treatments.

Dr. Kerns is extremely informative-answers all of my questions, and will go the extra mile. I never feel like she's in a rush to get to the next client. She has flexible hours, will work with your schedule, and is accessible. Orchid Aesthetics offers great specials and the staff is pleasant and friendly. Always look and feel vibrant after my visit with Dr. Kerns!

Dr. Kerns is a true artist--she will study your face and make adjustments so that your face looks naturally youthful and refreshed. The prices are reasonable but it is Dr. Kern's skill that brings me back time after time. I have been to several famous (among other doctors) dermatologists but will now only see Dr. Kerns for cosmetic fixes. The staff is warm and knowledgeable. Don't be put off by the lack of atmosphere--it is NOT an indicator of the quality of care you will receive. This spa is a real find.

I have been to super high end places and, sad to admit to low end places too (due to a rough patch w/my finances). Somewhere in the middle, Dr. Kerns is as good -and maybe even better!- than the famous Dr. Brandt (who is really really good - and verrrry expensive! He does all the fifth avenue ladies and celebrities). Dr. Kerns does really natural work and is really an artist, she gives just the right amount in just the right places. The office is welcoming and very professional, although it's not as fancy as some places -- it's also not as pricey either! Their decor could possibly use a little updating, so that it matched the exceptional work that Dr. Kerns performs. She is really excellent!!!!!!! I cannot recommend her highly enough.
As for those low end places, I can tell you don't even bother with them. They are not worth it.

I originally found Orchid through Lifebooker as they offered great prices. I have gotten botox and keep going back. Dr. Kerns has a wonderful touch as do her assistants. No bruising and it doesn't hurt. I will continue to go to Orchid.

Roxana B. Kerns, M.D., is a board-certified anesthesiologist and licensed esthetic physician. For six years, prior to becoming a board-certified anesthesiologist, Dr. Kerns also trained as a surgeon. After being trained at the teaching hospital of Columbia University in New York City and at the teaching hospital for Tufts University in Boston, she completed a curriculum in Cosmetic Acupuncture/Mei Zen system at The Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine in New Jersey. Dr. Kerns is a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology and a member of the American board of Medical Specialty.
