About The Ocean Spa at the Venue Hotel
Located in Dorset county in South West England along the English Channel coast, the Venue Hotel boasts exquisite sights from its dramatic location perched on the Isle of Portland’s limestone sea cliffs. Accommodations afford lovely views of the Jurassic Coastline, a World Heritage Site, in their own right, as does the boutique-style Ocean Spa; a team of spa therapists, personal trainers and fitness instructors combined with facilities like a swimming pool, fitness center, Jacuzzi and six treatment rooms are available to provide a fully integrated wellness experience.

My husband and I recently visited the ocean spa and had a treatment followed by use of the facilities. It was an totally relaxing and enjoyable visit and one I would definitely recommend. I am lucky enough to have lots of Spa days BUT this is by far the best ever. Great warm welcome and the range of treatments was amazing. Loved the room you are taken to after your treatment, felt like heaven. We also went to the restaurant which has wonderful views and service very good.

This was my first visit and I will be asking for another voucher for Christmas and future Birthdays. My daughter and I had a stone massage, facial and body scrub. The therapist was lovely, giving a calm and relaxing treatment. We both felt well rested and stress free when were finished. The pool, jacuzzi and saunas were great. We ended our session with a lovely late lunch in the adjoining hotel. Thank you I can't wait to come back.

I had the most amazing pregnancy massage at 34 weeks into my pregnancy. The therapist was very through, used a wonderful relaxing technique and I felt totally spoilt throughout my experience. The pool is beautiful a real Oasis of tranquility. I would highly recommend this spa and all the treatments that go with it, Well worth a visit. I will be back when next in area.

I had the best massage of my life at this Spa from the owner herself Verna. Although I had booked in for a hot stone session and a facial as a package , Verna could see how stressed I was an offered me a longer and more thorough stone massage instead. She really thinks about the client and the right treatment which I really appreciated. However, the best bit for me is being led into a relaxing room afterwards, being wrapped in a warm blanket, given a hot drink and invited to lie down and stay there for as long as I wanted. This was sheer bliss and helped me to make the most of the massage. I have never been offered this as an after-session before and it made a huge difference instead of having to rush off, get dressed and get busy again. I shall be going at least once a month from now on.

This was my first visit to The Ocean Spa and it definitely won't be my last! My friend and I made the most of an offer on a body massage with hot stones and a facial. The experience was wonderful. It left me feeling relaxed and totally chilled out. The staff is very attentive and can't do enough for you. I felt pampered the minute I walked through the door! I would recommend the Ocean Spa as the whole experience being excellent, from start to finish.

This was my second visit and certainley won't be my last!
All the treatments were fantastic and I left feeling rejuvenated and relaxed.
The details really stand out such as providing lovely soft and warm towels and bath robes. Also after my treatments I was able to enjoy their relaxation room.
The resteraunt facilities were also very pleasant with good views over the sea and good quality food.

I have visited the Ocean Spa twice, and had a totally relaxing day each time. The staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful, the treatments are amazing. I am a massage therapist and look forward to be on the receiving end - and it is so worth it. The therapists are very helpful, discussing your requirements before the treatment and explaining what products they have used and give recommendations afterwards. Then it is off to the relaxation room for some liquid refreshment and more chilling out. The pool is a good size to swim in, and then you can relax in the spa bath, sauna & steam rooms. The gym is excellent with amazing views, as is the hotel where you can go for refreshments. On my second visit the weather was good and we sat outside enjoying the view before driving home. A totally wonderful place to visit and I hope to go back again soon.

A friend and I visited the Ocean Spa having purchased a Travel Zoo Special offer as a Birthday Treat.
We can't rate the treatments & therapists highly enough. We had a hot stone back massage which was the most relaxing massage I have ever had, this was followed by an amazing head massage and very in depth facial.
We were then shown through to the relaxtion lounge where we sipped herbal teas until it was time for lunch!!
The afternoon was spent lounging in the pool, jacuzzi, steam and sauna rooms, again the service was brilliant with water being served to us on regular intervals. Simply Perfect and I have already booked to return.

The moment you walk in the door, you are treated like royalty. I love the ocean theme in the spa. Staff were very experienced, welcoming and try their best to make you comfortable. Wonderful experience and a lovely way to spend the evening. I will be coming back if I visit the UK anytime in the near future.

If a relaxing and pampered experience is what you are after then you must go to this spa. The therapist made me feel really relaxed and after my facial and massage I felt amazing. My skin was really soft and glowing, she really listened to what I wanted. The relaxation room and wide selection of teas afterwards was just what I needed.

I treated myself to a hot stone massage along with and eye brow wax, and eyelash and eyebrow tint. The service from when you walk in is impeccable you are made to feel special the whole way through. After your treatments you are led to a relaxation room with the most comfortable lounge chairs with a drink of herbal tea in perfect peace, the finishing touch are the sparkling lights shining through the ceiling which look like stars, Thank you Ocean Spa for an amazing time.

I visited the spa and spent a good hour in the swimming pool and jaccuzi. Had a quick light lunch and then progressed for my 90 minute 'exotic summer spa', provided by Verna who just is so friendly and professional and the treatment was sublime. Then rested with a fruit tea in the relaxation room. All this was included in the offer which was great value for money and gives you a good taste of more than one treatment. All staff friendly making for a very relaxing and de-stressing day. This visit surpassed my previous visit which was also a fab day. Great facilities, great products, great staff.

I visited the spa and had an 'exotic summer spa', which includes a 90 minute treatment and lunch, as well as the use of all facilities and the relaxation room. It was an amazing treatment, the staff were brilliant, and all in all I felt very relaxed and de-stressed. I am definitely going to book the same treatment again before the offer runs out. I feel it was good value for money for what it was. A really good experience.

My day at the Ocean Spa exceeded my expectations. The highlight was experiencing the massage skills of Verna - quite the best massage I have experienced anywhere! This combined with her careful attention to the individual make coming here a special experience.

What a day - I had the most amazing massage from Verma, relaxing yet invigorating, a truly special treat. This was followed by a rejuvenating facial, a delicious meal then a little light exercise to burn off the naughty chocolate brownie. We stayed in The Venue hotel for 2 nights and my partner and I booked massages at the Spa. At Ocean Spa we had a very friendly welcome from the reception staff, and were put at our ease immediately. I had a lovely relaxing massage by a very good masseuse and was then taken to a lovely relaxation room afterwards. My partner had been suffering with his shoulder, so his massage was more therapeutic. He had an amazing massage from Verna and rebooked for the following morning. We are visiting The Venue Hotel again soon, so will definitely be booking in for more massages. We also relaxed around the pool, which was very nice. See you again soon!

Stayed at the Venue hotel (which was amazing), during my stay decided to book in for a sports massage at the Ocean spa with a guy called Nathan. Definitely worth the money and pain as in just 45 minutes my body was as good as it had for a long. Just wished I lived closer so I could have one every week!! Highly recommended.

I am fortunate enough to have a friend who invited me to a pamper day. Am I pleased I accepted the invitation - you bet. Having suffered a heart attack in November last, it was just what the doctor ordered. I had an amazing time. Swimming, jacuzzi, steam room and tread mill. Lunch was very tasty! The best bit was Verna giving me massage and facial. Lots of tips and what products to use. I would definitely like to return one day. Long may this venue be around

This was money well spent i.e. Incredible value! Before my treatment I had red patches of skin on my face namely, blemishes that wouldn't heal no matter what store products I used. However after my initial treatment there was a noticeable improvement and left my skin feeling more hydrated and far smoother than before. The staff were extremely friendly and pleasant, making it an enjoyable and memorable experience. I'm looking forward to the rest of my treatments to come and would personally like to thank you Rachel who gave me the skin treatment, who is polite and very professional at what she does.

The facilities were good, the swimming pool warm, the massage and facial were both relaxing and very professional.

I often suffer with aches and pains in my back but after hearing and reading great reviews for The Ocean Spa; I decided to visit. I was not disappointed! The service I received from the reception staff was fantastic and the massage itself was really good. I felt so relaxed I think I probably could have fallen asleep on the bed! It lasted 45 minutes and the therapist was also very friendly. She took the time to ask about my lifestyle so she could focus on the problem areas in my back. She was an asset to this spa! Would definitely recommend to everyone =) Thank you Ocean Spa!

I have been suffering from terrible migraines and visited the Ocean Spa for a relaxing day and treatment. I had the Phytomer Marine Pearl treatment. The treatment lasted 90 minutes and I left feeling thoroughly relaxed. It also helped me to de-stress and release tension from my shoulders as the treatment started with a back and shoulder massage. My skin now feels rehydrated and glowing which is fantastic. I also liked discussing suitable products for my skin with the therapist and know the products I will buy and use as part of my daily routine. The therapist (Rachel) was lovely and extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at the spa and will definitely return in the near future.

i have just returned after a girlie weekend at the spa we stayed in the maritime appts which were excellent,well maintained and very clean at the spa we had the hot stones massage. I can honestly say i have never felt so relaxed as I did after this treatment. The staff are all so helpful welcoming and very friendly, this was our second visit and we have booked to go again in Feb I cant wait to go it's a real treat and would deffinately recomend the place to anyone.

I am 38 weeks pregnant and have just been treated to a mums to be massage at The Ocean Spa. The whole experience was very relaxing from start to finish and I feel thoroughly pampered! I looked at having this treatment at other Spas but don't think I would have got the same exceptional service and value for my money any where else!

I have just returned 'The Ocean Spa'. After an incredibly busy week, I booked myself in for a hot stone back massage and rejuvinating facial as a treat. It was absolutely amazing and I have never been so relaxed!
There were lots of added extras, like a small foot massage and an evaluation of my skin. In addition to this, I was given an explanation of products my therapist thought would best suit me, as well as her suggestions for more suitable future treatments.
The Spa itself was clean and welcoming, with the staff all smiling as normal! I was taken to the changing rooms, being given a brief tour of the spa on the way, whilst everything I may need to know was explained to me.
At no point, during my visit, did I feel rushed. Once my treatment had finished, I was given a glass of water before being taken through to the relaxation room. Here I was given a herbal tea (of my choice) before being left to 'chill' as long as I wanted. Heaven!!
I would highly recommend 'The Ocean Spa' as well as their fantastic offers to anyone I meet. I will most definitely be returning, both alone and with company (to use the double treatment room) in the near future!

I have visited the Ocean Spa for a spa day before and had a wonderful time. I spotted the offer currently running till the end of November on the Spa Finder website and decided to book again for myself and a friend.
Unfortunately the offer is misleading - you only get three treatments for £70 instead of the four listed. Also we were asked to pay another £10 because we were visiting on a Friday which is apparently a weekend. Because of the mix up on the treatments they agreed to waive the extra £10 which was good, but perhaps it should be mentioned on the site so that people don't get another nasty shock after finding out that the offer is not quite as good as it seems.
Apart from that the spa is lovely, the staff are wonderful and I'm sure we will have a very relaxing day.

I recently shared a spa day treat here with my friend and had a wonderful experience. The ginger and lime body scub was amazing. Followed by the shoulder, neck and back massage, which was one of the best massages I have experienced. We both then opted for the Elemis Skin Specific Facial and we both noticed how wonderful and rejuvenated our skin felt afterwards. After relaxing with a herbal tea, we went for a swim in the pool and used the jacuzzi. We finished off having an excellant lunch in the club lounge. Overall a wonderful experience due to the caring and helpful attitude of all the staff. We will be back.

I recently attended a Hen Party at The Ocean Spa and I have to say it was sensational. I was a bit unsure as to how successful it would be with such a big crowd of us, but we had such a good time. We were able to pair up and enjoy treatments in small groups, we had an Elemis facial and a manicure which were wonderful, my skin felt so regenerated and smooth! We were very impressed with the facilities, the swimming pool and jacuzzi were incredibly clean and well looked after! This was all followed with a wonderful lunch where we all sat together and talked about our lovely day. It was such an amazing experience and I know the bride to be enjoyed it too! Looking forward to my next visit here!

A friend treated me to a Spa day here for my birthday. Once, years ago, I had had a treatment at a top London beauty therapy clinic and had never, until now, had the quality of that experience repeated. The beauty therapy area was lovely - peaceful, relaxing and luxurious. Rachel, my therapist, was extremely professional in ascertaining exactly what was best for me. I had a glorious massage, a pedicure and then an excellent facial with Elemis products that improved my tired, blotchy, ageing skin dramatically. At every point I felt that my whole body was being cared for, not just the individual bits that were being treated - that is what makes such a difference. A delicious lunch in a comfortable private room followed. We were never made to feel rushed or unreasonable in our strange dietary requests and the staff were at all times a delight. Neither of us wished to leave and go back to our rushed lives! I would unhesitatingly recommend it for anyone who longs for a truly indulgent and enjoyable day.

I treated myself to a Summer Spa Day offer I saw in my local paper - it was such good value I couldn't resist. The staff were very friendly and efficient - 10 out of 10 for customer service - lovely lunch. The pool was lovely and warm, steam room/sauna excellent - thought an additional jacuzzi at the other end of the pool would be have been the ultimate luxury as I had to wait a while, other than that fantastic, and as for Verna's massage and facial - the best I've ever had, am planning to go back with my husband in the next few weeks, makes me wish I still lived on Portland. I have visited here a couple of times when I have been in the Weymouth area and I absolutely love it. The location is set up high with stunning views over Portland, and when booking spa treatments you get full use of the facilities including gym, pool, whirlpool, sauna etc. My husband and I have ben there a couple of times as they have a double treatment room, which is the only thing that got my husband along as he would have been nervous about having a spa treatment entirely on his own! They have some great value treatments for couples (and for individuals altholugh I've not tried those yet), and the staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ocean Spa and will be returning there again when I am next in the area.

I have always like Dorset, but after visiting the ocean spa I now like it even more. We spend the whole day with my mum at the spa. We have managed to have treatments in the same room which felt really nice. We also had some drinks outside the spa while enjoying the see view. Perfect day, ideal weather, excellent service, couldn't be better. Strongly recommend as a day out :)

The spa is very shiny and new with super sea views from the very well equipped gym and dance studio. There is a weights studio, good length pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and the most wonderful treatment rooms and relaxation room that I have ever come across. I have had massages all over the world including cruises and top quality hotels - but nothing compares to the treatments at the ocean spa. I ran out of ideas for presents for my hubby and bought him a deep tissue massage for his birthday last year and he now treats himself every month. I told my friends to come and have a look at the facilities and they've all joined. ....So part of me feels that I should keep this wonderful piece of heaven to myself and not share - but that would not be kind.

I have had a full body massage in several other places and this is by far the best. I enjoyed it so much I returned a week later and enjoyed the whole experience again. It is so relaxing and really does make you feel good and gets rid of all those knotted up muscles. Cant wait to go again.

I have had several treatments as this spa, and they have all been amazing, but the highlight is the Elemis facials. Verna and Rachel are the best beauticians I have ever had. My skin is looking better now (at 50) than it did at 30. Highly recommended.

I live in London but have family in Weymouth so decided to take a friend of mine for a treat to a spa for her 30th birthday and the power of google took me to the Ocean Spa.
The pool area is clean and well maintained. The jacuzzi could have been a tad warmer but the steam room was amazing. Hot, clean and with a lovely menthol aroma. The two of us then had a Summer Offer Special of a facial, back massage, scalp massage and foot massage. Verna was my therapist - AMAZING. Hands down the best massage I've ever had. I am normally told I'm really tense when I have massages which makes me more tense but Verna dealt with my tension perfectly. She made recommendations for my skin without any hard sell at all. And after all that my friend and I got to relax on stunning day beds, with fluffy pillows and cups of herbal tea. For the price we paid compared to what I would have paid in London for the same thing I was astounded.
I will be back when I'm next visiting my family.

I am not local but choose to visit this spa when I am on Portland. Both my daughters and myself have experienced the most relaxing time here. Massages & facials [especially from Verna] are top notch and leave you feeling great. Her care for her clients and the ambience she has created in the spa are of very high quality. The relaxation room gives escape time to dream following treatments using top quality products.. The swimming pool and surrounding areas are clean and well maintained. If you are on Portland and feel like being pampered then visit the Ocean spa!!!

What I love most of all about the Ocean Spa is the views. It's easy to forget you're working hard at the gym when you are gazing over a sparkling sea. When the sun shines - as it does so often in Portland - and the windows are open, it's almost like being outside.
The gym staff are very helpful and encouraging and go out of their way to make sure you get the most from your work out.
The swimming pool is very inviting and the steam room scented with herbs.
I had a wonderful, relaxing massage from Verna, whose hands are second to none. Although I only had a back massage, it was very thorough. Resting afterwards, wrapped in a fluffy robe while sipping peppermint tea, I felt soothed and rested. I even dozed off under the dimmed lights and tinkling music of the relaxation room.
I would heartily recommend this treatment to anyone looking for an escape from the stresses and strains of everyday life.
