About Santé Spa Calgary
Located in Calgary, in the Canadian province of Alberta, Santé Spa is dedicated to "providing medical and spa aesthetics in a soothing spa environment, while setting standards of safety, quality, and hygiene." The 5,000-square-foot spa is situated on 4th Street in the Mission District, just minutes from downtown. There are 13 treatment rooms including medical treatment rooms, aesthetic and massage treatment rooms, a duet suite for couple's services, a manicure area, and a pedicure area with side-by-side pedicure stations. The spa also has a boutique, men's and women's changing facilities, and a guest lounge.
Santé Spa strives to cultivate enhanced well-being and inner confidence by offering full body and facial rejuvenation through non-invasive medical aesthetics and complementing spa treatments.
All medical aesthetics are administered by an experienced medical team of doctors and registered nurses, in accordance with the Quality Assurance Standards of Leading Spas of Canada and the Global Best Practices of the International Spa Association. Dr. Wendy Smeltzer, the spa's medical director, oversees a medical staff of doctors and registered nurses who perform all medical aesthetic services. Aestheticians provide nonmedical and other aesthetic services.
Techniques and technologies are carefully researched and evaluated prior to introduction to ensure clients can benefit from the latest innovations in the world of aesthetic medicine. Medical treatments include Botox®, soft tissue fillers, Soft Lift™, a new cosmetic treatment that uses Botox® Cosmetic and Juvéderm™ together to smooth deep lines and wrinkles, fractional laser skin resurfacing, skin tightening, body contouring, In-Motion laser hair removal, chemical peels, medical microdermabrasion, Intense Pulsed Light treatments, and GentleWaves, which uses light to reduce the appearance of fine lines, and wrinkles by stimulating collagen production.
Spa services complement the results-oriented focus of the spa's medical aesthetic treatments. Spa services range from advanced facials to therapeutic massage and body treatments that can help nourish the skin. Manicures, pedicures, and teeth whitening offer clients a finishing touch to treatments.

Dr. Wendy Smeltzer, B.Sc., M.D., C.C.F.P., F.C.F.P., has more than 11 years of specialized experience in cosmetic medicine, in addition to 18 years of medical practice. Dr. Smeltzer has pioneered medical aesthetic techniques and worked to establish national standards of hygiene and safety across the Canadian spa industry. Dr Smeltzer was co-chair of the 2009 World Congress of Aesthetic Medicine and is an executive board member of the Canadian Association of Aesthetic Medicine. She chaired the Leading Spas of Canada Standards and Practices Committee for 10 years.

Dr. Christine Pezarro, B.Sc., M.D., C.C.F.P., F.C.F.P., has been working exclusively in cosmetic medicine for the past seven years, building upon 20 years in private practice. Dr. Pezzaro is an executive board member of the Canadian Association of Aesthetic Medicine.

Dr. Vivian Hill, M.D., F.R.C.S.(C.), Dip A.B.O., has more than eight years of specialized experience in cosmetic medicine, as an extension to her nine year practice as an eye surgeon. Dr. Hill is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada as well as a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Hill serves as an examiner on the Medical Council of Canada and co-chairs the undergraduate ophthalmology program at the University of Calgary.
