I visited Design 1 in Grandville, MI for a manicure and a massage. The salon/spa is located in a strip mall and is definitely as much of a salon as it is a spa. The spa area is set off to the side to create a more relaxing feel, but you can't escape the salon noise entirely.
Robes, cucumber water, and toiletries are provided for your use.
I will be back for a manicure, but may save future massage experiences for a more truly relaxing day-spa atmosphere.

The atmosphere is very calming at Design 1 and everything seemed immaculate, which is a HUGE issue for me. I felt very comfortable and relaxed before and during my massage. Everybody was professional, helpful and very friendly. You are offered a snack and drink prior to your massage, which surprised me! They were very prompt and called me in for my appointment at my scheduled time, which I REALLY appreciated! I would recommend this salon to anybody who is in the area of one. It may cost a little more, but it is SO worth it!

I have had multiple services done at this spa including facials, massages and pedicures. Every time I go the staff if very friendly and professional and the atmosphere is very relaxing and elegant. I highly recommend this spa for a great experience.
