Within its 26,000-square-foot facility, Lantana Spa has created a healing sanctuary inspired by the traditions and culture of South Texas. In celebration of Texas Hill Country, signature spa staples draw upon the curative practices of the Curanderos, or Hispanic village folk healers who utilized native plants, herbs, and botanicals. These include the Citrus Blossom Facial, the Texas Sarsaparilla and Coffee Scrub, and the Spirit of the Curanderos Energy ritual, a combination of a natural mineral salt scrub, a massage with organic lavender oil and hot stones, a wrap, and a scalp massage.

The spa has 30 treatment rooms, including wet therapy areas and two couple's suites with fireplaces; additional amenities include a full-service fitness center, boutique, and nail salon. Guests also have access to the spa's heated lagoon-style pool and spa café.

Amenities include 37-inch LCD TVs, coffeemakers, multiple telephones with dual lines, and signature Marriott Revive Beds. Named after the Grand Rivers of Texas, select suites feature dining and living areas, libraries, and bespoke furnishings; the hacienda-style Comal and Blanco rooms, the most luxurious of accommodations, also have spacious foyers, fireplaces, and full-service kitchens.

There are eight on-site dining venues. Cibolo Moon, the resort's signature restaurant, highlights Texas fare, while Spa Bistro serves light dishes and refreshing smoothies. San Antonio specialties such as carne asada and carnitas are on the menu at Rivertop Grill, while menu items at Crooked Branch Lobby Bar emphasize contemporary American cuisine prepared with fresh, organic ingredients. High Velocity caters to the sports fanatic, with dishes like Texas-style chili, St. Louis-style BBQ ribs, and Buffalo chicken salad. Additional options include the 18 Oaks steakhouse, overlooking the golf course. In-room dining is also available.

The JW Marriott San Antonio allows guests to partake in an extensive offering of activities. The resort boasts the River Bluff Water Experience, a six-acre aquatic playground made up of a 1,200-foot lazy river, free-form pools, two 275-foot long water slides, waterfalls, fountains, and a cabana terrace. While young guests ride the kiddie slides or splash in the children's pool, grown-ups can relax in the adults-designated pool or hot tub.

Fitness fans can get their fix at the 5,000-square-foot exercise center, equipped with Life Fitness cardio and strength machines, or in one of the workout classes—yoga, water aerobics, and Pilates, among them. The private 18-hole championship golf courses, designed by Greg Norman and Pete Dye, respectively, challenge golfers to hit the links amid 2,800 acres of rugged, rolling canyons. Two on-site tennis courts are lighted for play at night.

The city of San Antonio attracts about 26 million visitors annually. Top destination sites, including the Alamo, the River Walk, Seaworld, and Six Flags Fiesta Texas theme park, are approximately a half hour from the resort.
