    Comfort & Joy Wellness Spa offers a caring and intimate environment. The service menu is made up of massage, nourishing rose, seaweed, and chai soy mud body wraps, cleansing organic facials, aromatherapy, private steam baths, and luxurious manicures and pedicures. Ayurvedic services, including a bindi body treatment (an herbal body wrap using warm oils), are also available. The spa offers hair removal with gentle soy-based products rather than waxes. Hair and nail services are offered as well. Comfort & Joy Wellness Spa was recently voted one of the "Top Ten Spas in the Washington, D.C. Metro Area" by readers of the Washington Post, and was included in the Top Spas issue of Washingtonian Magazine.

I have been going to Comfort and Joy for several years. Tao cuts my hair and shapes my brows and she is wonderful! The environment is very relaxing and I have always left completely satisfied. I have also had other spa treatments there, massage, facial, pedicure and manicure. I highly recommend this little hidden gem of a spa.

I was there during wellness week with my spa finder coupons and I got a 50 minute facial and a 50 minute massage for the price of just one of those treatments. Both of the ladies that treated me were professional and thorough. I walked away refreshed and rejuvenated. I would definitely go there again!!!

Had a pedicure with a friend at this cute spa-they took us last-minute on a Saturday. Did the 'spa' pedicure which took place in a small, private-feeling room (only 2 chairs) so my friend and I were able to chat. Loved the mud mask on my legs, left feeling super relaxed! Would definitely return!

First of all, the atmosphere was not 'spa like' at all. You got the the relaxation area after walking through a non-relaxing hallway, and then sat right next to the hairdressers chairs. The treatment room was not that comfortable, the linens a little damp and not very lush, and the overall ambiance very underwhelming. This spa specializes in organic and natural treatments, but unless that's important to you, I'd skip this mediocre spa.

A photo of the hallway has been posted so that others can determine for themselves if it is sufficiently relaxing. A photo of the living room has also been posted, and while there is one Salon Chair some ten feet away, which is seldom in use, she was not seated next to hairdressers' chairs. A more complete set of spa photos, including the treatment rooms which are larger than most you will find at area spas, can be viewed on our website. This is a Spa that has been operating successfully since 2001, and comment books filled with hundreds of glowing comments from over the years is available for viewing, the most recent one sits at the reception desk and are excerpted on the website at www.comfortjoy.com. This customer continues to post negative reviews on several sites despite that we looked into all her concerns, gave her a refund for her visit, apologized if the visit did not meet her expectations, and, well, it's starting to feel more vindictive than anything else. We welcome Spa Finder gift cards, so you can come and try this quality spa for yourself, and while we realize we are not for everyone, most people enjoy their experience. I had never had a massage before. I am not a small person and was very intimidated about someone giving my not so small self a massage. I had wanted one for so long and could almost feel the relief it was going to bring. I finally decided on Comfort and Joy mostly because of location and because I thought it looked nice when I walked by one day. I had originally scheduled a fully clothed seated massage. The staff was very nice and the owner talked me into a regular massage and told me I could keep on as much clothing as I would like. The staff made me feel very welcome and put my fears to ease. Supta was wonderful. Very caring and cautious and very sublte at what she does. My experience was absolutely wonderful. I feel very comfortable at Comfort and Joy and that is the only place I will go now. Mater of fact, I have a massage scheduled for next week!! Can't wait. I look forward to my appointments!!

I have been a client of Comfort and Joy since it opened and there are many reasons why C&J is the only spa I visit. The people, the surroundings, the location - all add up to a most wonderful and unique relaxing experience. The customer service provided is beyond that which I have encountered anywhere else. The treatments - both facials and massages - are conducted by the most professional of staff. Every treatment I have had has left me relaxed and wanting to return sooner rather than later! I have been a client for some time now and I absolutely enjoy my services every time I visit. I am willing to travel from Maryland some 30 miles or so to visit this spa but it is worth the time and effort! Erin is a fantastic therapist and really loves what she does and this comes across in the way she treats her clients. She can make you feel that you are her only client because of the way she treats you when giving you your services. The nail technicians are wonderful as well; I am very happy to have found this spa and that I can let others know this.

I've been to spas from the east coast all the way out to Hawaii in my travels and I have to say this is one of my favorites. The therapists are always professional and don't chat you up or try to push products on you like many places. My favorite is Ivonnie (sp?) for massage. If you're new here the place doesn't look all that impressive from the outside (it's tucked in a strip mall) but the inside has a warm and cozy home type of feel and is deceptively large (deep actually) with a number of treatment rooms for a variety of services. I also really like their use of natural and organic products and believe they are the only "all natural" spa in the area. They offer free tea and sometimes light snacks in their 'living room" while waiting for services and have been highly rated in a variety of local publications. Also,I highly reccomend their all natural Orange Blossom massage lotaion -Great Stuff! Enjoy.

With the atmosphere and service descriptions, I fully expected to leave the spa pampered and blissed out of my mind. I felt a little hurried the whole time, and not quite as pampered as I hoped. I thought the pedi would include more of a foot/calf massage, while what I got was lotion slaped on my legs quickly. Overall, I sensed potential that didn't quite pan out.

I received a full day of services at Comfort and Joy. I was greeted warmly when I went in and went onto experience one of the most relaxing and enjoyable days I've had in a long time! The massage was by far the best I have ever received. Ivone was very attentive and had a wonderful touch. I almost fell asleep in my facial with Amsale, it was perfect, gentle, and relaxing. Thank you so much to Julie the owner, the front desk girls, and all of the very lovely, attentive therapists. I will be back again!

I have had facials and massages and been more than pleased with both. The massage therapist took great care to help relieve my shoulder pain. She listened carefully to my needs and worked with me to be sure she was helping to alleviate my pain. I have recommended the spa to many of my co-workers. It has become a favorite gift certificate to buy for celebrations at work. The staff is kind and considerate and goes that extra mile. I will definitely return for more treatments.

I have had 3 services at this spa. All 3 were scheduled, based on the brochure and booking, to last 45 minutes each. The first one lasted about 15 minutes, the second about 40 and the third 35. I have spa services all the time and have never had this much excess time for quoted services.
