Surrounded by the scenic splendor of Stowe, the new, luxurious Spa at Stoweflake celebrates Vermont's natural abundance with local herbs and natural essences as the basis for many of the spa's exclusive aromatic and rejuvenating treatments.

Stoweflake Spa embraces the true origins of the spa experience in incorporating 'Solacium Per Aqua' (comfort and wellbeing through water), as a pre-treatment ritual every spa guest can enjoy. Before a service you can enjoy the 'taking of the waters' circuit, entailing a soothing hydrotherapy waterfall inspired after Stowe's Bingham Falls, a Hungarian mineral soaking pool, hot tubs, and Eucalyptus-infused steam rooms. One then relaxes in a private fireplace lounge listening to the sound of water from the spirit falls water sculpture before being introduced to one's therapist.

One of the spa's signature treatments gets its inspiration from a local swimming waterfall. The Bingham Falls Renewal with Seasonal Sensations inspires you to stay healthy throughout the four seasons. This invigorating experience features a seasonal specialty body scrub with an optional warm Vichy rainwater rinse, topped off with an aromatherapy oil massage. Your seasonal themes include a Winter Wellness Immune Builder, Spring Renewal Body Purification, Summer Refresher Skin Hydration, and Autumn Balancing Exfoliating Nourishment.

Stoweflake also offers townhouses in a secluded setting with beautiful mountain views and a door side 9-hole, executive par-three golf course.

Meals that balance nutritional concerns and pleasure are central to the spa's mission. Fresh seasonal ingredients inspire Executive Chef Jeffrey Weiss's innovative Spa Harvest Cuisine, which uses many ingredients that are picked just steps away. Lovely setting along the bike path on the Mountain Road in Stowe, just minutes from the resort and quaint downtown area. Spa facilities are clean, comfortable and generally what one expects from a higher end spa. The variety of services is impressive; from Ayurvedic offerings to regional specialties, there really is something for everyone. I always try to book "Signature" or regionally-inspired treatments wherever I go, and enjoyed the VT Maple Sugar Body Polish (great choice if you want an exfoliating treatment AND a massage, but don't have the time or $'s) and Skier's Facial (another multi-service choice-80" includes the facial plus a hand and foot massage with exfoliation). The Hot Stone Massage and Stowe Apres Ski Massage were very typical-not outstanding, not terrible. The service was professional, but very impersonal (I prefer a bit more personality and warmth) and the attitudes and services of the booking staff were disappointing. Overall a good experience in a beautiful location, but not memorable in any specific way (good or bad).

My mother, a massage therapist who owns her own business, bought me a day at the spa for my birthday. She is very particular as a therapist. The facilities were very nice, clean, relaxing.my day there inlcuded a full body swedish massage, and a pedicure, as well as use of all the facilities for the entire day for myself and my husband. Facilities include a man made waterfall which you can sit under, which masages your back and shoulders, and a separate pool filled with water containing minerals meant to sooth your muscles. The steam rooms were very clean, and had cooled cucumbers and cool towels outside for your eyes. The lounge was very relaxing, with a British Invasion theme since this was September (scones and teas in addiion to the usual spa waters and snacks) I would defiinitly reccomend to a friends who is seeking an all-day experience.

I was intrigued by the Ayurvedic services that the Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa offered, and I could tell by the menu of offerings that they had an expert there. When I got there and met Surinda, I was not disappointed - my consult was extremely comprehensive and the bodywork that she recommended (and then performed) was exactly right. She had helpful suggestions for every day, as well as things to incorporate into my stay at Stoweflake, from nutritional suggestions, breathing exercises, and she even led a yoga class with modifications for some injuries that I am recovering from.Because I was so interested in the wellness aspect of my visit there, I was pleasantly surprised, amazed even, by how beautiful and luxurious the spa was! There was a mineral spa with a waterfall, a beautiful women's sanctuary with showers, a whirlpool, sauna, steam bath, chairs to recline in, tea, water, anything you could possibly need before or after a shower, and AMAZING spa services...vischy shower, facial choices a mile long, a labyrinth of treatment rooms, really, a girl's fantasy. The spa attendants and specialists were professional and pleasant, and I recommend going whether you seek a wellness destination or a spa destination.

I was given a Spa weekend with my sisters for my birthday and we loved it so much that we went back again. We tried somewhere else once and were not happy. So we came back to Stoweflake and we will come back again. I have recommended your Resort to other people and will continue to do so. Thank you for a great experience.

Don't ever go for a haircut here

Overall the spa is rated 4-5 stars on the facilities, not the service. The service to me is average. DO NOT go for a haircut. I have had my hair in all lengths and styles and this is by far the worst cut I've ever had, truly. The talent in there is no better than a beauty school drop out. Honestly, they are use to the older crowd coming in for a wash and set in rollers. The woman that was in there with me had longer hair and I saw her go immediately from the salon to the sanctuary locker room and put her hair up in a pony tail and mumbling to her friend. I assume she had about the same experience as I did. I actually went back to see if they could fix my hair (something I've never had to ask anyone) and little could be done and the 2nd girl just took a curling iron to it for a half hour and said I didn't know how to style it. Big thumbs down on the salon.

I have been to many spas in and out of the country and I did not like Stoweflake at all. In fact, we left early. It is not worth the money. Beware, if you get hurt, even a minor injury, no one knows what they are doing. We received a $400 credit to use towards another visit (since we left early) and I would rather forfeit the $400 than return. Canyon Ranch and Red Mountain are the best that I have been to.

The overview / review did not mention Stoweflake has Pilates classes and Pilates one on one instruction too. While otherwise excellent, their spa does not stock aftershave astringents or even rubbing alcohol.

Beautiful location and great service. Went during a promotional and got a great deal on a vacation package. It was a fantastic weekend! Already making plans to go back. Hopefully I can convince a couple friends to come along (won't be hard) and we'll make a week of it.

We booked two days in Stowe- the first day we spent at the slopes and the second day at the spa at Stoweflake and we were very impressed. The spa was large and had a great jacuzzi and mineral falls- waterfall. It was so nice to sit in the jacuzzi real warm and watch it snow outside. I had a 25 minute executive stress reliever massage which was good but too short! My boyfriend enjoyed his mountain refresher facial. Overall, a wonderful experience and we can't wait to go back!
