  Located on the shores of the Mae Ping River, in the heart of northern Thailand's city of Chiang Mai is The Chedi Chiang Mai. The hotel is built around what was formerly the British consulate's compound, a split-level, colonial-style building dating back to the 1920s, which now accommodates the hotel's restaurant. An additional more-contemporary wing was created to house the property's spa, health club, and accommodations.

  There are 52 guest rooms, a majority of them suites, and gastronomic options include Thai and Indian fare, fine wines, and afternoon tea. The on-site fitness center and swimming pool overlook the river, and the 4,310-square-meter Spa at The Chedi features private treatment suites, some with their own sauna and steam facilities. The menu combines body polishes and wraps, massage, bathing rituals, and nail and waxing services with exotic treatments such as The Chedi Jade massage; this signature therapy begins with an aromatherapy foot polish, followed by a four-hand massage using ancient Balinese, Hawaiian lomilomi, shiatsu, and traditional Thai techniques. Spa offerings utilize numerous product lines, including Ren, Abahna, and Traditions d'Orient.
