About Gateway Canyons Resort
John Hendricks, the founder of the Discovery Channel, invites guests to experience Gateway Canyons, a 225-acre "outpost" nestled within the stunning red-rock canyons of far western Colorado. Situated at the junction of three spectacular canyons, with the Dolores River running through, the resort and spa offers exploration and adventure through a bounty of recreational opportunities.
A customized activities agenda might include horseback rides at dusk, vigorous canyon hikes, thrilling rock climbs, or invigorating kayak excursions down the Dolores River. Guests can also tour the Gateway Colorado Auto Museum, or lounge poolside.
Resting at the foot of the Palisade, the Spa at Gateway Canyons, recognized in Denver Magazine as one of the "Best Spas in Colorado," revitalizes guests with deep relaxation and renewal, in harmony with the surrounding ancient landscape. Eclectic treatment rooms are individually customized with western accents, tiled showers, and a selection of naturally-infused products.

Debuting in 2010, the 3,600-square-foot spa at Gateway Canyons is housed in a separate adobe-style building, with the Palisade rock formation as its backdrop. Interiors merge Colorado's rustic charm with Santa Fe style, complemented by vibrant artwork, warm color palettes, wood floors, and views of the southwest's dust-red mesas from each of the treatment areas. An outdoor courtyard, trimmed in native foliage and a serene fountain, is available for guests to relax before or after treatments.
Four treatment rooms outfitted with private tiled showers and changing area make for an intimate spa experience, while hair and nail stations accommodate guests who wish to socialize as they spa. The spa's menu features therapies tailored toward each guest's needs. They include massage, facials, and body scrubs and wraps.
Minimum spa age: 16.
