First of all the only reason this spa didn't get five star across the board was I was hoping they would have nail services too but what they do have they do great! I am nine months pregnant and at the last minute I decided I couldn't take the back pain any longer and started the search for a spa that not only did pregnancy massages (not as easy as you think) but could also take me same day, and didn't cost an arm and a leg for the specialty massage like a lot of places do. I wanted the massage asap and to make it even more difficult for them I also want a bikini line wax so that when I go in for my csection in two weeks I wouldn't have to worry about itching hair growing back around my incision (I know, TMI but very important info). And then on top of those two last minute requests I wanted to bring my teenage daughter as a little reward and mommy daughter time since she is about to have three little brothers on her hands. Not only did they take all this in stride, they got me in within the hour and since we were first time clients I got the special rate and spent less then what one of those services would of cost at another spa. Oh and did I mention they were super nice, super professional yet not stuffy and my back feels great!

I got a Signature 90-min Massage and 60-min European Facial yesterday. Place looks nice. I didn't wait long to get in. My massage was advertised as a 30-minute reflexology followed by 60 minutes on the table for full body. What I got was a nice foot rub. Not reflexology. It was the kind of foot rub you get at a nail salon for a lot less. Then I got on the table and there were some good parts but not very many professional techniques. She also left the room several times to get warm wet tools to wipe off the oil. Maybe at the end this would have been okay but she just kept leaving and everytime the light from the hallway and noise of the door and everything would flood the room. She stayed gone for minutes at a time, too. I specifically asked for work on my shoulder blades and hips on the new client form they had me fill out and she skipped my hips. My facial was also a let down. The facial itself was average but the girl who performed it also left the room for a long time without any explanation and I could hear her fumbling around behind me as she got things ready. Other facials I've gotten were set up before I was brought in the room. I very rarely don't tip but this time I really felt it wasn't deserved.

I will start by saying that all our therapists and estheticians work hard to exceed each client's expectations. Needless to say, your review comes as a big surprise. We are truly dismayed that you did not absolutely love your sessions with us. What is most puzzling is that you seemed perfectly content when you left our establishment.
Our employees do appreciate tips, but when a client fails to leave a tip we assume that they are not familiar with the practice or are just short on cash. However, our exceptional staff provides the same level of client care regardless of gratuity. I really wish you had verbalized or indicated any of issues you had with our service during your 2.5 hours with us, or at check out. I am sorry that you did not feel free to do so; issues like massage pressure, eliminating the warm towel oil clean-up, or time under the facial masque could have easily been resolved during your sessions, according to your specific needs.
I am noting your account regarding your feedback. We will ensure that we we meet your specific requirements next time you come in. We seek to continually improve our business, based on client feedback such as yours. Client satisfaction is the cornerstone of our business.

Fantastic Spa at a Great Price

I discovered Zenspa over 2 years ago when they opened. It was 2 weeks before I was moving to Virginia. During that time, I went on 3 separate occassions and had a wonderful experience each time. I also make a point of having a massage at Zenspa each time I am back in town visiting. Here are the reasons why:
* Warm and welcoming staff
* Lovely waiting area
* Nicely decorated rooms
* Fantastic reflexology foot and leg massages
* Great all over massages at whatever level of intensity I need that day
* Special touches like the use of hot towels to wipe the massage oils off of your body
* Incredibly reasonably priced!!
I have had a variety of massage therapists and they have all been professional and great at their job.
On my most recent visit this last week, I noticed that Zenspa has added to their lists of services. Next time I may have to venture out and try something new.

I was in San Diego for a short weekend and decided to treat myself to a short spa experience (massage and facial).
I actually own a day spa at which my wife is an esthetician. With this being said I am really not an avid spa goer but do frequent massages and the like when I am cruising or are on lavish vacations (which happens annually). I've got to admit that I am a pretty demanding customer that discriminates spa service details rather critically.
I believe that if a client is willing to spend their hard earned money for spa related experiences like facials, massages, etc...that they should receive the utmost in service. Not only should there be professional expertise with attention to detail but I believe there should also be a level of selflessness and authenticity that exemplifies true appreciation and sincerity.
Zen Spa passed all of these rather rigid criteria with flying colors. Their practitioners hail from China to Eastern Europe and beyond. Each one is charming and down to earth and gives that extra something special that allows the experience to be that much more enjoyable. I cannot recommend Zen Spa highly enough. It is VERY affordable and offers top quality services with genuine care and technical expertise!
