Better than Yoga to get out of your head
My first class at Divine I bought two Groupons and drug my friend along. I thought it would just be a fun girls' activity. Little did I know that one class was all it took to get me hooked. I had been doing yoga for over 10 years and using it as a mainstay for stress relief and fitness. That feeling I'd have at the end of a yoga class, where I was calm and my lungs were big kept me going back. At Divine I was more present after the first song in the warm-up than I have ever been in yoga. I'm able to completely lose sight of the outside world and allow myself to embrace the public solitude. Two and a half years later and I'm still going at least once a week. I've been through giant ups and downs in my life and Divine has kept me sane. I've also found a community of women who are more supportive of each other than I've ever known before. They are so enthusiastic about loving yourself and encouraging fellow dancers. It's better than cake or pie. Just sayin'.
