For students 4 to 10 years old, this class will work to connect imaginations to the languages of movement in three-dimensional space in combinations with two-dimensional drawing. Line, texture, color, forms, shapes, dynamics, energy, and rhythm will be explored in both mediums. Children will draw inspired by the movement they have just done or see before them and dancing will jump off from many places including the drawing. Children will be given and will contribute images and ideas that will be rendered by the full body and/or the one hand.

Students will develop precise footwork, graceful port de bras (carriage of the arms) and the correct positions and lines of ballet. Jazz Performance 3-week Series

Miss MJ provides focus on technique and showmanship in this exclusive 3-week performance series for beginning-intermediate dancers ages 7-12. Building on a choreographed piece from week to week, as well as polishing specific turns, leaps, and other movements fundamental to various Jazz styles. Space is limited to insure growth and development of each individual, so sign up now!With this being a short 3-week series, no students will be permitted after the first week. The $40 fee for this class is separate from regular class/unlimited youth passes and must be paid in full by the series start date.

Students will learn the stances that connect to form hundreds of moves. These moves can be combined to form routines that create the awe-inspiring style we know as “breakdancing”.
