Church Of Yoga (Mixed Levels)
Ida Craddock lived in the early 1900‘s and was one of the first American female spiritual yoga and tantra teachers. Her teachings on Tantra and eastern philosophy won her the unfortunate attention of the powerful anti-vice activists at the time who harassed her for years, even jailing her. Ida was one of our most important and overlooked pioneering women of wisdom in Yoga. She believed in a better world, a world where the body is a beautiful gift of light and spirit and substance. For a period of time in Chicago, Ida founded and declared herself Priestess of the Church of Yoga and held weekly Sunday meetings. Erinn honors her by picking up this tradition of gathering on a Sunday to study and practice the wisdom of the ancients, to shed the confining boundaries that society places on us, and to become the perfect Yoga that each of us already is. This is a slow moving, meditative, peaceful 1 hour class. |
