About Arc House
Housed in a former 18th-century priory, The Arc House is an American-owned, full-service destination spa with programs focusing on weight loss, stress management, and improving physical fitness. Located in the quiet French village of Monclar de Quercy, the spa allows visitors to experience the best of the south of France, with guided tours to a variety of famous and quaint towns such as Bordeaux, Carcassone, Lourdes, and Albi; trips to nearby markets; and French classes for beginners.
The relaxation and beauty treatments include the Arc House healing massage (using essential oils), the stress-detangling massage, and a variety of detoxifying and anti-cellulite services. Several fitness classes are offered, and guests often keep fit with walks through Monclar, which has three lakes and miles of trails. The Arc House is ideal for adults who want to enjoy the beauty of the French countryside while discovering more about themselves.

Rooms & Dining
Once an 18th century priory, The Arc House offers spacious guest rooms (some of which have twelve-foot beamed ceilings, exposed brickwork, and fireplaces) with French beds, antique armoires and chairs, and distinctive art. Many of the original doors, tiled floors, and fixtures built more than 200 years ago are still intact.
An on-site dietitian supervises all cuisine at The Arc House, and only fresh and organic ingredients are used. The menu includes vegetarian options; low-sodium, weight maintenance, diabetic, and other special dietary restrictions can be accommodated at short notice.
At the Arc House, a personal chef prepares foods with equal attention paid to taste and nutrition. Lunch at The Arc House may consist of a goat cheese tart with spinach leaf salad. Dinner could be a choice of flavorful local dishes such as duck confit with flageolet beans and pain de campagne or pan-seared salmon with fresh parsley and wild rice nicely washed down with a fine Bordeaux wine and chased by creme brullee.Food Options

Activities
All guests of The Arc House participate in one of three available programs. The 'Weight Loss' option involves a personalized exercise and diet plan developed with the aid of advanced diagnostics, as well as "Food & Feelings" sessions led by an experienced counselor. The 'Stress Detangler' option addresses built-up tension with an initial stress assessment, followed by a prescribed range of anti-stress spa and beauty treatments and a weekly session with a counselor, if necessary. The 'Focus on Fitness' option encourages guests to set and incorporate fitness goals with an individualized regimen designed to provide impressive results. An initial fitness assessment will help identify health targets. Weekly massage and progress coaching is included in this package.
Known for its wineries, beautiful countryside, and gourmet cuisine, the region in which The Arc House is located is a great place to become acquainted with French culture and couture. The spa offers several escorted visits to a number of breathtaking areas for wine tasting, shopping, sighteeing, and fine-dining experiences. The spa's chef regularly gives cooking demonstrations based on specialties from the different regions of France.
A fully equipped gym with a mixture of cardiovascular and body-conditioning machines as well as free weights is on the property for general use. Leisure walks through the countryside and power walks for those who are more motivated are encouraged. A personal trainer is on-staff. Private horseback-riding lessons are available on request. Throughout the week, the spa offers activities such as movie screenings and organized games.
