Customers would visit this business again
a bunch of lies
By CameronP | January 5, 2013

When I bought a gift card for my wife they said they would get me a pass for the outside pool and spa so I could relax with my wife after her massage. They lied. When I showed up with my wife on the day of her massage they tried to tell me they never said that. They now sant to sell me a pass for the day. They will promise t you the world when they want your money, but lie to you after. Would not give them my money again. A lot of nicer spas in the desert.

My Annual Indulgence
By Nancy | March 1, 2012
5.00 out of 5 stars
I am in Palm Desert every year to attend the BNP Paribas Open with my girlfriend. Our indulgence is to make sure we take one day away from tennis and spend a "day at the spa" at the JW Marriott Resort & Spa. The facility is gorgeous, and once inside we do not want to leave. When you purchase a spa treatment, you have "all day" access to the fitness center and the spa facility.....we literally get into our robes, and do not take them off (except for the massage part), for a few hours. The rainforest showers are to die for (once you figure out the settings). The wet steam room is misted with eucalyptus oil scent...ahhhhh. Indoors, the hot tub is clothing optional (don't worry, ladies and gentleman have their own facilities). You can lounge in the relaxation area and have spa water or tea, and cookies. Outdoors is a salt water lap pool (bathing suit required). And we always have lunch poolside too (with wine). Best day ever. Can't wait for my next visit in March 2012 (their March special this year is 60 mins Naturopathica Aromatherapy massage for $105 (regular $145). Did I mention you can spend ALL DAY at the spa (8:00am to closing 6:00pm) with in/out privileges.

Nice spa but bogus ad on spafinder
By TiffanyL | May 22, 2011

I got a spa finder gift card because a person knew I was going to Desert Springs Marriott and when I called to make an appt, I was told that while the hotel promotes spa finder, they don't accept their gift cards. THAT MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL. "hey we think the service is great but we wont accept it." Kinda lame if you ask me. Fraudulent on spa finders part and on the hotels part.

Great Experience
By AnnaA | October 4, 2010

The spa at the JW Marriott was a great experience. You check in and pay for your treatment first (which was a bit unusual) but speeds up the departure because you don't need to wait in line to pay when you're done. The facilities for the spa were great. The showers already had towels laid out on the private dressing benches and the staff replenished them within minutes. The steam rooms were gorgeous with sparkling glass tiles. There is a cafe inside the spa which made it convenient to have an actual lunch without having to get out of your robe. The therapists were prompt and courteous. I had a hot stone massage and my friend got the deep tissue. Both of us enjoyed our therapists and treatments. It is a wonderful spa - I hope to visit again soon.

Rooms & Dining

The JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort boasts nearly 900 guest accommodations, 51 of which are suites, and many offer sweeping views of the Santa Rosa Mountain cascade. Room amenities include private balconies or patios, minibars, in-room safes, custom bedding with triple sheets, and entertainment centers with TVs and Sony CD players. With seven restaurants on site, guests can select from an extensive menu of international cuisines. Diners can sample steak, chicken, and seafood fare in a dramatic fashion at Mikado Japanese Steakhouse, a teppanyaki-style dining venue where Samurai-inspired chefs expertly prepare meals in front of guests. Italian aficionados will enjoy Ristorante Tuscany, while fine dining can be had at Lake View Restaurant, which offers California and spa cuisine served buffet-style for breakfast and lunch and prime rib and seafood buffet dinners on Fridays and Saturdays. For a more casual setting, the poolside Oasis Grill is a good choice.
