• About Four Graces Pilates Studio

With thousands of new locations, you’ve come to the right place to find a Pilates studio. Originally developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates as a rehabilitation method, the popularity of this core-strengthening and spine-aligning workout has since spread around the world like wildfire. The practice, often called the Pilates method, is meant to improve mental and physical wellbeing, increase flexibility, and strengthen muscles through a series of controlled movements and breathing that engage both the body and mind. Different studios offer a variety of classes, and we’re excited to be partnering with this Pilates studio. Please check back for more information on this listing, and thanks for using SpaFinder!

Xtend Barre

The Xtend workout targets all the major muscle groups. Classes begin with an invigorating warm up which increases the heart rate and prepares students for the work ahead. Then, the upper body segment begins using light weights to target the shoulders, biceps, triceps, and upper back muscles. Next, students challenge their entire body, including intense seat and thigh series, with the support of a ballet barre. Xtend then engages the core deeper with an intense abdominal series performed on the floor. A calming stretch series relaxes the body and mind, concluding the Xtend class. How does Xtend work? We like to call our approach "Muscle Mixing". By mixing different muscle groups into every exercise, Xtend strengthens the body proportionally to avoid overuse of a single muscle group. Unlike traditional weight lifting or even Pilates, Xtend does not focus on isolating one muscle group at a time; our weight-bearing positions provide a total body workout... without adding bulk.
