Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga is the art of sequencing to balance our body, attune our alignment and posture and focus deeply on relaxation.  This class offers a variety of sequencing and a continued study of asana (postures), breathing and meditation depending on the class focus to balance the body and mind. Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is considered by some to be the oldest form of Hatha yoga. Yin is distinctive from other forms of yoga, however, because it is designed to stretch the connective tissues, ligaments, tendons and joints in the body and not the muscles. Poses are done primarily in a seated or lying down position and are targeted towards the lower back, hips, pelvis and legs. Each posture is typically held from 2-5 min. The intention of yin yoga is to keep energy flowing smoothly through the body by lengthening and strengthening the tissues that are often overlooked. Yin is considered an ideal form of conditioning to aide one in the process of prolonged meditation.
