Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga is the art of sequencing to balance our body, attune our alignment and posture and focus deeply on relaxation. This class offers a variety of sequencing and a continued study of asana (postures), breathing and meditation depending on the class focus to balance the body and mind. Yin Yoga
Yin yoga is considered by some to be the oldest form of Hatha yoga. Yin is distinctive from other forms of yoga, however, because it is designed to stretch the connective tissues, ligaments, tendons and joints in the body and not the muscles. Poses are done primarily in a seated or lying down position and are targeted towards the lower back, hips, pelvis and legs. Each posture is typically held from 2-5 min. The intention of yin yoga is to keep energy flowing smoothly through the body by lengthening and strengthening the tissues that are often overlooked. Yin is considered an ideal form of conditioning to aide one in the process of prolonged meditation. |

This class is designed to build core knowledge of the Stott Pilates Principles as well as all Essential Level Pilates exercises. These principals include a focus on postural alignment, core strength, pelvic placement, shoulder girdle stability, stretching/lengthening of major muscle groups and bringing overall balance into the body. We work on core strength and over all body toning. Pilates is a great workout and will give you the mind body work of incorporating our whole body in the exercises! It is recommended to take at least 3 months of Essential Pilates Mat classes to build strength and consistency that will support doing the intermediate exercises. Pilates is an amazing workout!
