Sanivan Holistic Retreat and Spa

I have been to Sanivan four or five times in the past year. Everytime I go I arrive stressed and tired and leave feeling peaceful and energized. The greatest asset that Sanivan has are its owners, Saniye and Ivan. They are caring, knowledgable, lovely people who really work very hard to make sure that your stay is comfortable and satisfying. There is a huge heated pool, a sauna, fitness equipment, a great library of spiritual, self-help, nutrition, and natural healing books, and a dvd collection of very interesting and educational films. They rooms are pretty and comfortable, I always sleep so well there. The food is absolutely gourmet level delicious, and they do all the cooking themselves, and will gladly send you home with some recipes. They are really flexible with the food and will be able to counsel you on what style of eating would be best during your stay, whether it's vegetarian, vegan, raw, or juicing, as well as non-vegetarian. All the food is organic and supports local businesses, and some of the food is even from their very own garden! They have beautiful and sweet cats who love to be pet but will leave you alone if you don't feel like being bothered, they are not at all intrusive. There is a great yoga studio a few minutes away that I would really recommend attending with Saniye and Ivan as well. The treatments are like a slice of heaven on earth, after a shiatsu or facial treatment I feel absolutely blissful! You should know that the bathroom is shared and the food is family style, so make sure you are comfortable with that before you book. Your stay can really be customized and you can have as much alone time or as much company as you like. Saniye and Ivan would also be glad to take you on a hike, or you can just walk the pretty labyrinth in their yard. I could go on forever about how great Sanivan is, I just left a week ago and I'm already looking forward to my next stay! I would definitely recommend this spa/retreat!

I spent 3 days/night at Sanivan in May, and it was a WONDERFUL experience, beginning to end, in every aspect.The hosts are gracious and kind. They both have a remarkable knack for “reading” their clients needs, so you get nurturing guidance when you need it, and privacy and down-time when you need it.The rooms and facilities are clean, warm and inviting. I thoroughly enjoyed the sauna, whirlpool, and the HEAVENLY shower with the waterfall and jets. The bed was like a big “hug” that embraced me each night. I slept like I haven’t slept in years.The owners cats are sweet, gentle and loving, but NOT intrusive. So if you love and miss your pets (like me when I’m away) you can find a friend or 3 to cuddle up with, but if you’re not a cat person, these kitties will just do their own thing and not bother you. And the place is kept so spotless, you would never even know there are cats around!I had a massage and a facial, and they were both FANTASTIC. Facials normally make me break out, but this one didn’t. My family commented on how good my skin looked when I returned home.I can’t say enough good things about the FOOD. I know I ate healthy (because the scale told me so!) but I felt like I ate like a king. Yummy healthy beautiful food.Sanivan is a small and intimate retreat. If you are looking for 5 star glitzy over-the-top pampering, this may not be the place for you. But if you are looking for a peaceful healthful nurturing escape. Look no farther. I cannot wait to return!

What an amazing place! The staff is incredible and has a great philosophy for leading a healthy life. I learned a lot from my stay being as you really have an opportunity for one on one service. I loved the food and the treatments. Plus the property is wonderful... very quaint and self contained, great pool, well decorated and clean. Really, a pleasure! This might become my yearly restorative getaway!
