About Relax On Cloud 9
The Relax on Cloud 9 facility dates back to the late nineteeth century, which is reflected in the spa's fireplaces, high ceilings, and wood floors. Each of the spa's nine treatment rooms has client-controlled lighting and music, allowing guests to create their own treatment atmosphere. The spa also encompasses a sauna, steam room, whirlpool, Vichy shower, and 400-square-foot yoga studio. The highly experienced massage therapists and estheticians at Relax on Cloud 9 perform all conventional spa treatments, including a wide variety of healing massage techniques.Location

I finally went and everyone there was fantastic. I've bought gift certificates for my wife, mother in law, mother, and even a few employees, and they were always super appreciative. They told me for years I should go myself. The entire staff at relax on cloud nine is a pleasure, and really go out of their way to make sure you're thrilled. Everyone really seemed like they WANTED to be a work and make me feel great. I always throught a massage was just a massage, but I actually think the massage was much better than ones I have received in the past. I will definitely go back.

I have been to cloud 9 many times over the years and was satisfied up until about 2 years ago.Every time i get comfortable with one of the workers they seem to disapear.I mentioned this to the owner and she recomended someone that i had not used .I was very disapointed with her suggestion because i think She had to be somewhere and i felt as if i was being rushed during my masssage.I still went back and the next time i noticed holes in the sheets that were covering the table and many stains on the rug that was under the table.I mentioned this in a letter to the owner and and she really didn't seem that concerned about it. I had been to this location more than 30 times over the years it has been open and my last visit was my last visit.

My husband and I recently had a couples massage for the second time at this location. Our masseuses Claudia and Kathleen were very professional and extremely attentive! After a long week of work, this experience was the perfect way to relax and be pampered. They even surprised us with a champagne toast for two after the massages were complete!

I have been going there about 5 years. Lynne is the one for great massages and exfoliation. I have also had facials but don't really care for them.
My only complaint is that the massage rooms near the front can be noisy. It is an older house and you can hear everything outside the door.

I have been here for massages and just got my 1st facial.
I have very sensitive skin but when we were done...gone was all the redness and blotchiness...I would definitely go back here for a facial...
Massages are awesome as well. The staff is very friendly and personal.

I won a gift certificate to this spa and decided t use it for a facial. The technician was experienced and professional. Overall, the location and setting could use some "spa" makeover itself, but the service is what counts. It would have been nice to get a little extra treatment since their services are pricey.

I has been going to cloud 9 at their old location for a few yrs, I saw Tara there when she did facials, she is excellent, she is anything but cold, Salome is excellent too and has a totally different personality. You are talking complete apples and oranges here. All I can say to the ladies who read this is Go to either one and you will be happy. As far as the red head, she is totally cool, she massaged my bf over at the hotel twice. She talked tattooes with him, she is a cool chick, she doesn't gossip, she is not the catty type, look at her, she is laid back and a genuine person. Please.....maybe they were whispering because they were in the hall and it is a spa. I haven't gotten to Clove Road yet, but I will get there soon. You must realize that every technician is different. Peace out!!!!

The overall experience at cloud nine spa is wonderfull. I have been going there for a number of years and Salema is the greatest. She gives wonderful facials and the hot stone facial is delightful and relaxing. She is the best. I look forward to my monthly visits.

I am strictly a waxing customer-have yet to get a massage. I highly recommend going to Salome for a Brazilian wax. She is funny, and knows how to make you feel comfortable. The other girl is good at what she does, but she could keep it. she is totally cold and not friendly at all, she practically shut me up, that isn't cool. I am in the industry (hair) it is about the person paying-if they talk the professional should just go along. She seemed like she was in a bad mood. I must say, she is very effiicent the thing that bother me was when I saw her with the red headed woman in the hall minutes later I truly felt like they were gossiping about me- very uncomfortable vibe.I love the spa but will definetly make sure I get Salome, she is great,don't let the person on the phone convience you to see anyone else!!!

i love it there. i was just looking around this site for gift certificates. i don't get to go there as often as i like, but they are great. i don't know if i am supposed to mention names or not, but the woman with the heavy spanish accent that someone commented on is the best. she does a great facial. and the tall attractive girl, i want to marry her. and the tattoed lady is my daughter in laws favorite!!! such nice girls!

I couldn't disagree more with the negative reviews. I have been going to Relax for more than 2 years and it has been so helpful. Having had spinal surgery with residual pain, my monthly massage is better than, exercise, physical therapy or medication in alleviating my discomfort.
Just today I read in the newspaper that the owner of this spa received a business leadershiap award. Her staff is friendly, courteous and helpful. My massage therapist, Lynn, is very skilled and highly trained.
As to the atmosphere, the spa is inside a 100+ year old house that is absolutely beautiful. In my opinion, the owner should receive another award for preserving such a gem. And the bathroom, NEVER once was it dirty as well as any other room I have been in. Some people are never happy. Pay no mind, go have a massage, it's wonderful.

I think they are just great, I have no idea what that person means or who she is referring to when she said the manager who was rude. Gail, who I think is the owner is very accomadating, my gift card was months expired, and she said honored it with no problem what so ever. The young lady with the blonde hair who I believe is management is very pleasant and even gave my husband his massage. Overall, they are a nice bunch of ladies who are down to earth. It is Staten Island, not Park Ave people really need to get over themselves. The price is right, the massage has always been good, the tall attractive girl, the lady with the tattoo's I love em all!

I absolutely love coming here! The staff is very attentive, and Robert, my masseuse, was amazing. He not only gave me a wonderful massage, but he also gave me pointers on how to alleviate the tension that I always get in my neck and shoulders from sitting in front of a computer all day. I always have trouble sleeping, but last night was the first time in months that I was knocked out cold. This was all due to the massage from Robert. If you need a place to relax and de-stress, please try Relax On Cloud 9! You won't be sorry!

I have been going there for about 3 years. I think they are affordable, and good. They are down to earth and I never feel rushed or bombarded with phoniness like I did when my kids sent me to another spa on New Dorp Lane. I had that guy Robert, he is actually a physical therapist as well, I have to say he does talk alot but it in all fairness it pertains to my massage, it isn't like he talks about the Jets. I think that the pervious poster is overly critical, not every massage person is for every customer.

My wife was poking around this evening and saw these two reviews, and my only thought has to be they are competing with this wonderful place. I have been a client there for about two years now after being injured on the job ( construction,not a desk jockey) two years earlier. I am at times almost unable to stand like others and walk stooped after work. After the woman who works on me is done I feel like a new man, actually being able to stand up straight. My wife almost couldn't believe it after my first visit to this place. I had been to a number of mutt physical therapists and chiropractors before going to cloud nine and thought I would be in pain forever. Then I found the young lady who gets so deep into every muscle, and actually finds things going on that I haven't even mentioned to her. Thank God I found this place. I tell every one I know in my business to go there, and many have. Not one has had a complaint, and most continue to return. Without the woman I found at cloud nine I don't know if I would still be able to work, or if I would be disabled. I recommend this place to anyone with physical problems. By the way, I usually fall asleep there and have to walk in the park or on the street for ten minutes before I feel like I can drive home. Take my opinion for what its worth.

I have gone to cloud 9 many times and each time I go, I do not know why I go back. I recently went for a much needed massage and I was put in the room right by the front door/reception. I heard everyone come in, heard every phone call the receptionist made and answered as well as everyone walking back and forth on the loud wood floor. The room itself was small and bright. The blinds did nothing to shade the room. It was so small that there was no where to put my clothes. I opted for a male, which I usually do and he was very uncomfortable and the massage felt amateur.
From being a runner and walking in NYC all day in heels, my feet have some callouses and his response after the massage was "whats up with them?" Which I felt was rude. He did not massage my entire body, he skipped over my arms and hands. I have had many massages and know what "full body" massage consists of. To top it off. I had a 1:00 appointment and he kept me waiting until 1:20 and then finished my massage at 2:00 since he had another client. I paid almost $100 (massage with tip) for him to massage me for 40 min and not even get my whole body.
Needless to say, i will no be returning.

My experience at this spa was far from relaxing. It was uncomfortable, a waste of money and just flat out rude. It all started when I had asked to speak to a manager on the phone and I was rudely hung up on three times. Then instead of being "forwarded" to a manager I was sent to an answering machine. Finally my spa appointment comes and I specifically requested a female masseur. After having to wait in the waiting room in a robe my therapist comes out, we go in the room and for first 15 minutes she breathed extremely heavily and ruined the experience. I then requested to have the opportunity to come back with someone else. I had to speak to the rude* manager in person who said that wasn't possible so I took the only person left which was a male. He had a great personality but didnt follow directions. The atmosphere was not relaxing at all. The floors were loud, the traffic and zoo directly across the street which housed many functions for children were extremely loud. The decoration was tacky . There was one therapist who had a strong accent who was speaking loudly about Brazillian waxes which was innapropriate. The bathroom was dirty with used disposable underwear, no toilet paper and a urince covered seat. The receptionist was never around. I could hear talking from what I guess was a break room. The outside decor has a rundown foreclosed home feel with empty pots and weeds everywhere. The parkinlot houses 6 cars and the employees park in it. It is also a very steep rocky hill that I would rather walk from two blocks away. Yes this all sounds picky, but a spa is for relaxing and I could not do much of it. I would never step foot back in there.
