I had been breaking out in adult acne for a few weeks before i got my rebalance facial at d'mai urban spa. The facial was very relaxing and was tailored to my skin type. After the facial, i face felt renewed and my acne quickly disappeared a few days later. I can't wait to go back!

I was on a desperate search for a great spa in the city to send my parents to on their wedding anniversary. I stumbled across D'mai and when I called to inquire about their package, they were so polite and helpful that I decided to go with them. I purchased a gift certificate for a couples massage as an anniversary gift to my parents. I took my parents to the appt and OMG, from the second we walked in, they were so welcoming and friendly - not to mention the place smelled amazing! They greeted us with warmth and took my folks to the back. When my parents came back from the massage, they were so amazed and impressed with the entire experience. They said that it was 'fantastic' and by far their best massage - their therapists were great, the ambiance was great, the place was clean and inviting. It was a wonderful choice overall, so much so that I will be booking my own appt soon. I think D'mai is a best kept secret in Brooklyn. Can't wait for my turn!

The massage therapist I had during my session was amazing. While the amenities are good and small, the massage was one of the best I've had compared to several other high end spas in Manhattan. They also have a nice steam room for before/after your massage. A great local find!

I adore D'mai. The setting is so serene and unexpected, I'm instantly transported to another faraway place once I step in off Fifth Avenue. I've booked partner massages twice here, and it is the ultimate decadent romantic gift. I would honeymoon in their massage cabana. Massages are fab, and so are the manipedis, and the facials. Total indulgence and luxury all around. A vacation in Brooklyn.

I have gone to d'mai for various one off treatments. All have been fair. Nothing to rave about, but nothing to complain about either. That is until my last visit there. My wife and I planned a spa day to relax from a very stressful week. When we arrived we were greeted with the most unorganized receptionist ever. The spa had completely screwed up every last detail of the treatments we had booked. They had us down for individual massages, instead of couples; A manicure for me, but they had it under my wife instead; And to top it off NONE of the appointments for my wife (a facial and manicure). When she told them that she had booked it they told her they don't have it and they are fully booked to accommodate her for that day.
They were completely non apologetic and offered nothing for their complete incompetence.
I was ready to walk out, but was convinced by my wife to to make the best of it.
In all honesty I believe I came out more stressed from my experience there then when I first arrived.

I had two prenatal massageswithin 2 months time.
I was 7 months pregnant when I had my first massage. There is no table to accomodate pregnant women so they had me lie on my side.
While changing in the locker room I started to turn around to turn the shower on and I tripped over the wooden mat and fell on my side. I mentioned it to my massage therapist but I am not sure that she heard me or was just ignoring me.
The second visit was on Father's Day. I took my husband for a massage and booked a prenatal for myself. When we arrived we were told that the locker rooms had been changed and men are using the women's locker room because of all the fathers coming in for services. They explained that the women's locker room is larger than the men's.
My massage was so-so as the massage therapist did not shut up the entire time.
After my massage, I showered and began drying off when suddenly a young man walked in on me. It was a male employee who got confused with the locker room change. I was completely naked and being almost 9 months pregnant felt completely humiliated.
When I metioned this to the front desk staff they were very apologetic and gave me a $20 discount.
I did not even know what to say. We paid our bill and left as quickly as possible. I know it was an accident but it still happened and they should not have charged me for the massage. I did make a further issue of this because of the humiliation I felt.
Needless to say, I will never go back to this spa.
