Postnatal Yoga (Open Level)
This class allows an opportunity for new mothers to heal minds, bodies and spirits after the intensity of childbirth. Each class is a flowing experience with an emphasis on spiritual growth and recovery. Energy builds up in the body from the inability to exercise, irregular sleep patterns, and the need to be of service to the new baby’s needs. Yoga can release this pent up energy while creating healing in the mind and body. Mothers will receive tips for brief sequences and meditations to do at home, while also building a much-needed community and support network. This weekly class is for mothers (biological or otherwise) who are seeking support, physical recovery and a community of other mothers and is suggested for all mothers who are 6 weeks to twelve months into parenting a new child. There will be an ongoing monthly playgroup for additional bonding and support. |
