Yoga props such as blankets, blocks, bolsters and straps are often used for safe practice, and to allow the body to fully achieve each position comfortably. This class is held at a slower pace and focuses on stretching all areas of the body, while releasing stress and tension from joints and muscles. Floor work will be optional. Post Natal With Infant
These gentle poses will help strengthen, energize and tone the whole body, focusing on the abdominal muscles and pelvic area, as well as the shoulders, neck, and back which may be feeling the strains of new Motherhood. We will also address and discuss any other issues that may come up when adjusting to the needs of your baby. The atmosphere and motion will increase your sense of well being. This is a special chance to bond with your baby through Yoga, or get out on your own for awhile, whichever you choose. Come to class 4 to 6 weeks after a normal delivery, and 6 to 8 weeks after a Caesarean. Also attending the class will be a Certified Lactation Consultant, Susan Webber. Susan will be willing to answer questions regarding breastfeeding and can schedule additional help if needed outside of class. |
