Yoga for the mature body is a yoga class designed to help you move again. This class also specializes in helping people who suffer from fybromyalgia, recent surgeries, back problems, etc. This is a gentle class incorporating range of motion exercises, alignment, stretching, strengthening, awareness, breathing and relaxation to refresh, energize, improve posture, deepen breathing and improve sense of well-being. Heated Vinyasa – (Intermediate to Advanced Level) This class is led as an intermediate to advanced level class for those wanting more of a challenge. You will flow through Sun Salutations, synchronizing breath to movement, building a deep connection between mind and body. Basic asanas (poses) are practiced along with a sequence to lead up to more challenging poses. We will deepen work with the breath (pranayama) and body alignment. The room will be gently heated. The word Vinyasa means “breath-synchronized movement.” The yoga teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. This technique is also called Vinyasa Flow, or just Flow because of the smooth way that the poses link to the breath and become like a dance. This early morning flow is appropriate for those who are familiar with yoga poses, sun salutations, and Roxie's vinyasa classes. There will be less instruction and more time for listening to your inner voice as we flow together to the rhythm of our sacred selves.
