Originally developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates as a rehabilitation method, the popularity of this core-strengthening and spine-aligning workout has since spread around the world like wildfire. The practice, often called the Pilates method, is meant to improve mental and physical wellbeing, increase flexibility, and strengthen muscles through a series of controlled movements and breathing that engage both the body and mind. Beginner/Intermediate Pilates Mat Express!
Pilates is a low stress method of physical and mental conditioning that strengthens and lengthens the muscles while stabilizing and supporting the skeleton. Designed to work directly with the deepest muscles in the body, Pilates exercises initiate from the core (abdominal, back and gluteus areas) and flow outward to the extremities. Pilates Mat exercises provide students with strength, flexibility, and body awareness. Vinyasa Flow - LEVEL 2 (Heated)
Vinyasa Flow is a a type of yoga that sequences poses to flow together harmoniously. This class is intended to teach the foundations of vinyasa, allowing the connection between breath and body through mindful movement and heat-building sequences. Be prepared to sweat as energy begins to flow. We will work on building up to a peak pose through the system of kramas or stages. There is a stage of each asana where you will be able to comfortably drop off. Room is heated to keep your muscles warm and keep you safely moving deeper into the asanas. Yoga experience recommended. Room will be heated to 80 degrees. |
