Originally developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates as a rehabilitation method, the popularity of this core-strengthening and spine-aligning workout has since spread around the world like wildfire. The practice, often called the Pilates method, is meant to improve mental and physical wellbeing, increase flexibility, and strengthen muscles through a series of controlled movements and breathing that engage both the body and mind. You can attend postnatal yoga classes from about six weeks after birth. Our postnatal yoga is safe and effective and is specifically designed for new mothers to be the first exercise you do in the immediate months after birth. During pregnancy, the pressure of the growing baby weakens the entire pelvic area. Pilates helps to strengthen the pelvic floor and lower back which in turn helps prepare the area for the head down position of the baby. Now you can supplement your regular cardio routine with a Pilates Reformer JumpBoard Class. The mind and body work together, as in a typical Pilates class, but the tempo is much quicker and your coordination ability is put to the test. The Pilates Reformer & JumpBoard class creatively integrates reformer and mat exercises like the hundred, footwork, Abdominal series and more with the JumpBoard attachment.
