  Dr. Leslie Gerstman is the creator of Medical Aesthetics, a boutique medical spa located in the heart of SOHO. She is a board-certified physician who specializes in the art of Aesthetic Medicine. Because of her unique background, Dr Gerstman takes a holistic approach to aesthetics.

  Her training began in primary care at Overlook hospital, a former affiliate of Columbia University. After doing volunteer work in Nepal and India she became interested in the Traditional Medical systems of the east including Ayurvedic and Tibetan medicine. Dr. Gerstman’s path continued on to the study of acupuncture, yoga, nutrition, and nutraceuticals. “It is the principle of wellness through nutrition, body work, and spirit which I find most fascinating”.

  Shortly after finishing her residency, Dr. Gerstman realized that it was equally important to her clients to look good as it was to feel good. “They wanted their outward appearance to accurately reflect their internal state”. At about the same time, the non-invasive field of Aesthetic Medicine was beginning to thrive. “Being able to effectively alter a client’s appearance without any long term harm is of utmost importance to me.”

  Dr. Gerstman has since spent most of her aesthetic training in Paris, and has studied with some of Europe’s top aesthetic physicians. She still makes her annual trip to attend the International Master’s Course on Aging Skin.

  Dr. Gerstman’s affiliations now include the American Holistic Medical Association, American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, the International Medical Spa Association, the International Academy of Cosmetic Dermatology, and the MedSpa Society.

  The adjunctive utilization of non-invasive cosmetic procedures, nutrition, an “artistic eye”, and a holistic philosophy, all allow Dr. Gerstman to alter the aging process with natural appearing results. But it is Dr. Gerstman’s compassionate nature and genuine demeanor that make her one of NYC’s top Aesthetic physicians and has earned her the title of 2007 Best of Citysearch Medical Spa.
