Restorative

ahhh... relax, re-energize, renew. We will begin by focusing on the breath and moving into a gentle warm up. We will transition to standing poses which will increase warmth, allowing the muscles to become pliable and let go of tension. The second half of the class will be spent in restorative postures, which use blankets, bolsters, straps, and blocks to completely support the body, allowing the muscles to fully relax and the mind to find calmness. Appropriate for all levels, including those new to yoga or recovering from injury or illness.

Do you like to keep your practice moving, but at a slower pace? Students in this class practice a combination of poses that build strength and improve flexibility without over taxing the body. The pace is slow and meditative to create smooth flowing transitions into the poses, and instructions include modifications for making the poses easier or more difficult depending on personal preference. The class includes a general warm up sequence, sun salutations, standing poses, cool down stretches, guided deep relaxation and finishes with meditation.
