Yin Yoga
The universe is comprised of both yin and yang qualities. Yin is the stable, unmoving, hidden aspects of existence, while yang is the moving, changing, revealing aspects of existence.Yin yoga is a quiet, restorative practice that focuses on expanding and nourishing the deep connective tissues of the body, specifically the ligaments and fascia that connect the bones. Stretching these tissues can bring healing to areas of chronic injury, especially involving the spine and hips. In addition, yin practitioners believe that energy travels throughout the body through meridians in the connective tissue. Yin yoga helps unblock the flow of energy in these channels, bringing balance and healing to the body, mind, and spirit. In a yin practice, you will find the opportunity to bring stillness to your body and mind. We will move slowly, holding each posture for several minutes. This gentle, meditative practice is appropriate for students of all fitness and experience levels. |

Aligned Ashtanga
Aligned Ashtanga (heated)this class is suitable for newer students to more advanced students, NOT for absolute beginners or those recovering from injury.Ashtanga is a series of postures (asanas) connected by the breath. This style combines sequential, flowing movements with focused internal awareness. Within the stye of Ashtanga, there are 6 sequential series in which the sequencing is “fixed”. The first of these series is the full primary series and requires 2 hours to complete. As this class is 1.5 hours, only part of the series will be practiced, however, we will take time during the last portion of the class to explore various postures which occur later in the series depending on the needs and desires of those present in each particular class.
