Yin Yoga

This gentle and relaxing class that works deeply into muscles and connective tissue through extended holds of the postures. Yin is a powerful practice, which targets the tendons, ligaments, and fascia within the body. This is a perfect class for meditators and those who lack flexibility because we will work deeply into the connective tissue and the joints. These are the deep yin tissues of the body relative to the more superficial yang muscles and skin. Yin yoga opens up these deep, dense, rarely touched areas. Gentle yin classes involve a relaxed practice of floor postures that are held from three to five minutes at a time. There are far less postures or asanas in the yin practice as are found in the more active styles, which is why this type of practice complements the more muscular styles of yoga, such as Vinyasa and Ashtanga. This class is open to all levels and for most, this is one of the most challenging, yet totally relaxing experiences that they have.
