Flow, or “vinyasa”, yoga is an evolving style of hatha yoga within the Western yoga community and is quickly becoming the most popular style of yoga taught in America today. Flow yoga is an active style of yoga linking poses together with the breath. Flow yoga modifies the poses for greater safety and gives lots of options in each pose so that every body can feel uniquely and successfully challenged. Restorative
Restorative yoga is a profoundly healing form of yoga. In a restorative class, all of the poses are completely supported by props, thus releasing the body to rest in them for longer periods to receive deeper benefits derived from the poses, and encouraging the body's innate healing. Pregnancy / Pre-natal Flow
Pregnancy Yoga-classes are designed to help women increase energy and vitality, to soften, surrender and deeply relax. Emphasis is on breathwork, listening to one's body and connecting with baby. Qi Gong
Qigong (pronounced chee gong) is the chinese term for “breath exercise.” Unlike our western understanding of breath, the concept of qi refers to the living energy present in all life forms. This energy is not static, but constantly changing, expanding and contracting. It is this broader movement of qi that we refer to as “breath.” Qi moves with pattern, rhythm and direction. These are observable characteristics that we strive to cultivate an awareness of in our own bodies and the world around us through the practice of qigong. In this class, we will use simple, repetitive exercises to cultivate an awareness of our own qi and its unique patterns in our bodies.
