We offer a 60 minute beginning yoga class for new mothers, mothers-to-be and infertility patients seeking life balance. Ashtanga Vinyasa is both a dynamically aerobic and meditative practice. It was primarily introduced to practitioners in the West by Shri K. Pattabhi Jois, a dedicated yogi and Sanskrit scholar. As taught by Jois, Ashtanga is a form of Hatha Yoga which focuses on asana (posture), Pranayama (breath control) and vinyasa (the linking of postures by breath and movement). It focuses on correct breathing which induces both the elimination of toxins and the purification of the body. A consistant Ashtanga Vinyasa practice has the capacity to de-stress and reshape the body and to keep our circulatory system fresh with oxygenated blood. Restorative/Pregnancy Yoga
Research has shown that preparation before giving birth allows for an easier physical and emotional transition postpartum. We offer a 60 minute beginning yoga class for new mothers, mothers-to-be and infertility patients seeking life balance. This class includes modifications of postures designed to meet the changing needs of your body. Emphasis on breathing, body alignment, and helping aches and pains caused through childbirth, motherhood and infertility treatments. Restorative Yoga is a therapeutic style of yoga which utilizes props to make it easier for the body to get into certain poses, and thus, surrender to the pose. Practicing poses using props provides a completely supportive environment for total relaxation. The more your body is supported in the poses the deeper the sense of relaxation.
