Perhaps you are looking for an exercise that specifically targets that pesky hip or knee that has been aching you. That’s where Yin Yoga comes in. What is Yin Yoga? Simple answers such as "It is the balancing practice for your yang style of yoga" or "It is yoga for the joints, not the muscles" are not overly satisfying, but those are correct answers. The best way is to experience it as this class is approached from a relaxing and restorative perspective. This practice is targeted at stretching and healing the deeper tissues, ligaments, and tendons in the body. The postures are held for longer periods of time so it can be a more meditative practice, and is a perfect compliment to your vinyasa flows.
