Ashtanga Power Team Taught
Get ready to sweat! Mike and Mariah team up to teach a Yoga "asana" class inspired by Beryl Bender Birch's compassionate take on Ashtanga Yoga. The class will include "sun salutations", forward folding postures from the primary series of Ashtanga and backbending (with compassion) from the second series of Ashtanga. The goal of our teaching will be to give individual attention and hands on adjustmments. We want to help every person find the postures with respect to the physical limitations that exist within YOUR body. Two teachers allows for modifications to be taught so all injuries/ can be respected and yet the class can continue to flow. Each modification, with practice and patience, will eventually lead to a deeper expression the posture for each practioner. With more "teaching" eyes on your knees, hips, hands and backs we will help you draw attention to alignment issues and develop a safe yoga practice. Unwind your body in this warm, easy going, lighthearted stretch. Class will start with a gentle warm-up focusing on core, leg and back warmth in preparation for stretching.
