  Christened Vancouver’s most historic luxury hotel, playing host to royalty and celebrities alike, the Hotel Georgia has been a landmark in the city’s downtown district since its 1927 debut. The restored property reopened to great fanfare in 2011 as the Rosewood Hotel Georgia and has already garnered such prestige as the AAA Four Diamond Award.

  Tucked away on the fourth floor, Sense, A Rosewood Spa® offers guests an urban oasis to calm mind, body and spirit. Of the 155 guest rooms, sleek in design and furnished with spa-inspired bathrooms, are two suites with private terraces with pools and fireplaces. On-site restaurant options, varying from a fine dining venue to a casual café to an alfresco lounge, add to the hotel’s elegant allure.

With soft indigenous music and hints of mint, rosemary and evergreen wafting through the air, the elegant Sense, A Rosewood Spa® has created a calming ambience in which guests can unwind. The 3,000-square-foot spa has five treatment rooms, along with an indoor saltwater swimming pool and fitness center stocked with Cybex and Technogym equipment.

Spa-goers can readily indulge in customized treatments, such as the Vancouver Signature Sensation, comprising a full-body, custom-blended native mint and basil salt scrub, followed by a Vichy shower and relaxation massage. Other modalities include hot stone and deep-tissue massage, exfoliating body treatments and masks and hydrating, firming and deep-cleansing facials. Guests as young as five years old can visit the spa to enjoy mani/pedi, facial and massage treatments from the Rosebuds Junior Spa menu (parental supervision is required.)

The 155 guest rooms and suites reflect the hotel’s classic sophistication, dedicating meticulous attention to detail. Decorated in a soothing color palette of soft blues, ivory and chocolate and furnished with flat-screen TVs and king-size or double beds outfitted in Italian Rivolta Carmignani linens, each room offers an elegant, modern feel. Spa-inspired bathrooms feature heated floors, tiled showers with rain shower fixtures and, in some cases, oversized soaker tubs. Accoutrements include twice-daily housekeeping services, complimentary in-room WiFi and Ohne bath amenities by Lady Primrose. The Rosewood and Lord Stanley Suites also boast private rooftop garden terraces appointed with fireplaces and plunge pools.

Ample dining venues and lounges, distinct in ambience and cuisine, are on offer to tempt guests’ palates. Restaurants include the signature Hawksworth and the casual Bel Café, under the creation of chef David Hawksworth, and Reflections, which offers delicacies like grilled dishes, fresh shucked oysters and an extensive wine list. A romantic fire pit is the centerpiece of the open-air lounge, located within the hotel’s fourth-floor inner courtyard and stylishly designed with teak furnishings, illuminating lanterns and infinity water features. Lounge venues include 1927 for spirits and light fare.
