Pilates with props
This class is a full-body workout, challenging the beginner client as well as the elite athlete. The foam roller offers many of the same benefits as a sports massage. By using the foam roller, you will stretch muscles and tendons, breaking down soft tissue adhesions and scar tissue. This myofascial release increases blood flow and improves circulation, resulting in a decrease in soreness and stiffness which limit range-of-motion. The focus will be on core strength, balance, posture, and muscular symmetry. This is a great class for all clients wanting to release tight muscles, prevent injury, and enhance performance in other sports (great cross-training!) Other props, such as the magic circle, small ball, and hand weights will be used to enhance the benefits of the foam roller. |
