Located on a private peninsula in Virginia’s picturesque Northern Neck, the 106-room Tides Inn offers something for everyone. Younger guests may prefer the resort’s Crab Net Kids Club. The Spa at the Tides Inn comprises 2,400 square feet and is the ideal sanctuary to soothe body and spirit, with its views of Carters Creek and interiors that reflect the beauty of the waterfront peninsula surroundings. There are six treatment rooms, as well as a mani/pedi area, and marina guests can even schedule massage services in the privacy of their own yacht. Additional spa amenities include locker rooms outfitted with showers.
A collection of marine-inspired treatments are available and include the Tides of Change Signature Body Treatment, a 90-minute ritual that combines a salt scrub and full-body custom massage. Body treatments, massage modalities, facials utilizing Naturopathica products, and beauty services like waxing, nailcare and makeup services are also offered.

Classic interiors of the 106 guest rooms and suites are inspired by British-colonial decor, and guests can enjoy views of the Carters Creek coves and gardens. Rooms feature Egyptian linens, CD/DVD players, mini bars and high-speed Internet access. Select accommodations have balconies and bathrooms with marble walk-in showers and deep soaking tubs.
The seasonal Commodore’s waterfront café caters to diners with light, casual fare, while the Chesapeake Club serves seafood fare created with fresh local ingredients. For fine dining, guests can reserve the East Room of the Chesapeake Club.

The Tides Inn provides a wealth of indoor and outdoor recreational endeavors that appeal to relaxation and sporty types alike. Guests can exercise on cardio or weight training machines in the 600-square-foot fitness center, relax in yoga class, trek the walking trails or have a ball on one of the four tennis courts. Water enthusiasts can make a splash with numerous maritime activities – paddle boarding, fishing, sailing, kayaking and canoeing, among them; boat and cruise charters can also be reserved. For golfers, the resort has a complimentary par-3 course, and free transfers are available to the nearby Golden Eagle Golf Course. Two swimming pools and the Crab Net Kids program, for guests ages 4-12, cater to families.
Wineries, beaches, state parks and historic attractions like George Washington’s birthplace and Robert E. Lee’s plantation are all within easy reach. Day trips to Tangier Island, Smith Island or colonial Williamsburg can also be arranged.
