Aromatherapy uses essential oils from plants to heal, alleviate pain, and regulate mood. Essential oils are volatile, highly concentrated plant extracts derived from leaves, barks, roots, seed resins, and flowers. Several essential oils may be combined during a session. Essential oils are usually mixed with a carrier oil like sweet almond, apricot kernel, or grape seed oil. A relaxing aromatherapy massage might have lavender or bergamot, while a massage for sore muscles might include peppermint, eucalyptus, and/or arnica. Grapefruit essential oil is highly recommended for uplifting the spirit.

Craniosacral modality is a nonintrusive gentle manipulation of the skull and spinal system. There is a rhythmical motion in the craniosacral system created by the rise and fall of cerebrospinal fluid. This causes a corresponding movement of the cranial bones; restriction of the rhythmical motion may contribute to illness.

Techniques that utilize deep-tissue/deep-muscle massage are administered to affect the sub-layer of musculature and fascia. These techniques require advanced training and a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology. The muscles must be relaxed in order to effectively perform deep-tissue massage, otherwise tight surface muscles prevent the practitioner from reaching deeper musculature. A method to reorder the major body segments, Rolfing was founded by American biochemist Dr. Ida Rolf in the 1940s. Rolfing utilizes physical manipulation and movement awareness to bring head, shoulders, thorax, pelvis, and legs into vertical alignment. It allows more efficient use of the muscles with less expended energy by lifting the head and chest and lengthening the body’s trunk. A sense of lightness and greater mobility often result from Rolfing. Ten sessions based on the Rolfing Technique, known also as Structural Integration. This is a commitment of 10 consecutive "massage" treatments designed to rebuild the body's structural alignment.
