Its 33 vertebrae are stacked together in a column joined togetherby cartilage and ligaments, and almost every movement of the torsodepends upon its flexibility and function. Kundalini comes from the word Kundal which means "lock of hair from the beloved". The "Uncoiling of the Hair" is the awakening of the Kundalini, the creative potential that already exists in every human. In the physical body the Kundalini resides in the spine. Phoenix Rising Yoga

Phoenix Rising Yoga is not your typical yoga class, through a combination of classical yoga techniques and elements of contemporary body-mind psychology, it encourages a deeper connection with oneself. The instructor is not guiding the class in a tyipcally sequence of asanas, instead each student is moving into poses that they feel their body needs at that moment. The instructor walks around the room assisting each student in their poses and aids in bringing them deeper into the asana. While the instructor is doing this, she will be asking questions and encouraging dialog; whether or not you would like to engage is fully up to you. This is truly a unique class and should be experienced by all of our members!  *Since the instructor has to walk around the room and work with each student on an individual basis, the class can have no more than 6 participants. Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini comes from the word Kundal which means "lock of hair from the beloved". The "Uncoiling of the Hair" is the awakening of the Kundalini, the creative potential that already exists in every human. Kundalini works through administering a set series of Kriyas (actions) and Meditations. The series of exercises concentrate on breath work, mantras and mudras. In the physical body the Kundalini resides in the spine. Help us help Gina Pinho, a wife and mother of 3, in her battle with Stage 4 Glioblastoma. This is a rare form of Brain Cancer and Gina was diagnosed with it during the week of Thanksgiving 2010. Since the cancer has been found, Gina underwent 2 surgeries to remove the masses found and to relieve pressure on the brain. This has caused Gina to lose her independence, she will no longer be able to drive or work again. Her husband John had to quit his job to take care of Gina and their 3 kids. All of the proceeds from this class will go to help pay for Gina’s Medical expenses, the costs of daily living and for Gina’s dream, to help her children through college.
