I own several lodging establishments, so I know customer service and these ladies know what they are doing! This is the best for service in any industry. You are greeted with a friendly smile and may I help you from Connie. Then she escorts you to the changing room and asks if she can get you tea, coffee, water and even champagne! They will even order lunch for you, at the nearby deli.
Pauline, the hairdresser is so perky and friendly, and sits you down for a consultation. When we go over my concerns, it is a relief to see she has complete knowledge of her profession.
And yes, there really is a Gerta's of Austria, from Austria, go figure, who greets everyone with her smile and quiet confidence.
I also had a manicure and pedicure,, oooo, my feet feel great, the whole works with this, thanks Mitch.. They are very good about the cleaniness, getting a pedicure was my concern, they use antiseptic to clean. And they put fruit in the soaking water! Mitch and Tanya are great, and the eyebrow waxing, wow Tanya sure knows how to shape them.
There are no frills with this place but who cares, when you are being treated like a Queen. Great prices too!

I left several messages on the service, no one returned my calls, when I applied for and thought Ihad set up an appointment, I was told that it did not happen.
I moved on to another spa. I would attempt this again with more determination, I had a facial there years ago, when I lived in the area and was pleased.

I loved my trip to Gerta's of Austria!!! What a pleasant surprise. When talking to my friend recently, I was complaining about the lack of waxing places in the area. She was shocked to discover I knew nothing about Gerta's of Austria. This place was old school. I loved Tonya the woman who worked on me. She gave me an excellent waxing and my eyebrows are the best they've been since I left my beloved spot in NYC. As a special treat, I had their manicure and pedicure. I walked out with the softest feet I've had since I was a teenager. My manicure still looks new, and it's 4 days old. They pulled out all the stops, parafin on my feet and hands, massages and scrubs and all the works.
The place is old school, no dryers or new equipment. This is great for some things. I appreciated the attention to detail, such as the use of a fresh strip for each waxing, the marbles in the bowl under my feet while soaking pre-pedicure, all the high quality products and the friendly staff. On the other hand, the assistant did mess up one of my toes and the repair seemed to take an additional 20 minutes I could have done without. If there were a dryer, this would have expedited the repair.
This place reminded me of the places on the upper east side and the hamptons my mother took me to as a teenager in the 80s. It had all the same aesthetic and attention to each part of the treatment. I have grown to accept most of those services are gone in today's establishments. I didn't realize how much I've missed having the extras. This place was well worth what I spent.
I think they could update a few things, but most importantly, I walked out feeling like a million bucks. So glad I went to Gerta's for my "spring cleaning." My legs, toes, feet, hands, brows and a few other parts are very happy.
I loved Tanya!!! She was terrific. So was everyone else I met when I was there. I'm definitely going back to try one of their facials soon.

I went to this spa because my regular stylist works there. Parking was cramped and a little hard to maneuver. The atmosphere was okay but not great. It's very clean and bright but has no view as it is right next to a busy road and the building is actually located down off the shoulder of this road. I was offered refreshments and got a great color/foil highlights and cut for a very reasonable price (actually cheaper than The Cutting Crew and other mass cut salons). Tanya is one of the best stylists I've ever had work on my hair and she has a wonderful personality. That makes sitting in the chair for an hour or two pass much more quickly. They offer all sorts of spa treatments and you can get a neck and shoulder massage while you're waiting. All of the staff was really friendly and approachable. The friendliness of the place outweighs the lack of atmosphere.
